• Can economically access smaller blocks of coal and is
more readily able to avoid geological structures
• Mobility of high wall mining equipments makes it easy to
move around a pit, from pit to pit or mine to mine.

5. • Saindak Copper-Gold Project (SCGP)
• Pakistan and China signed a formal contract worth $350
million for development of Saindak Copper-Gold mine.
• The mine was leased for a 10-year period (16-Oct-2002
to 15-Oct-2012) to Metallurgical Corporation of China
Ltd. (MCC)
• The agreement further extended for a period of 05 years
i.e. up to 15-Oct-2017
