Walt Disney founded the Disney Brothers Studio in 1923 which would later become The Walt Disney Company. Some of Disney's earliest successes included Steamboat Willie in 1928, the first Mickey Mouse cartoon, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937 which was Disney's first feature-length animated film. Over the decades Disney produced many beloved animated classics and acquired other franchises like Marvel. Their films continue to inspire hope and happiness for new generations.

Peter Pan, based on characters created
by Scottish playwright J.M. Barrie, is released.

8. August 29, 1964
Mary Poppins, the practically perfect tale
directed by Robert Stevenson, about a
magical English nanny, is released.

9. December 20, 1971
Roy O. Disney, who, with younger brother
Walt Disney, co-founded the company that
is now known as The Walt Disney
Company, passes away.

10. June 15, 1994
The Lion King opens to a limited audience
in Los Angeles and New York and
nationwide on June 24, 1994.

11. December 31, 2009
Marvel Entertainment joins the Disney
family.

13. Reasoning…
The reason I chose Disney as my hero is
because my original hopes and dreams came from
the very classics that the Disney Incorporation has
created. They continue to come out with great
movies and always put a smile on my face. Disney
reminds me that life can be simple and happy just
like their characters in the stories they tell.
