Walt Disney was born in Chicago in 1901 and grew up on a farm in Missouri. He moved to Hollywood in 1923 and started his career in animation by creating the character Mickey Mouse in 1928. Mickey Mouse was featured in Steamboat Willie, the first animated film to have sound. Disney went on to found the Walt Disney Company and create many beloved animated films such as Snow White, Pinocchio, and Bambi. He also opened Disneyland in 1955 before passing away in 1966.
