Women in traditional Chinese society faced patriarchal social structures and legal discrimination. Under Confucianism, women were expected to obey their fathers, husbands, and sons. They had limited rights and could not inherit property or wealth. During the Tang Dynasty, some social restrictions on women were lifted and they gained more access to education. However, the practice of footbinding began and became widespread, causing lifelong health issues for women.

Women in China have seen significant changes in their rights and roles over time. Historically, women were deprived of equal rights and were expected to serve men as slaves or concubines. Practices like foot binding further restricted women's mobility and suitability for marriage. In the early 20th century, women's rights advocates called for reforms, and the Nationalists and Mao banned foot binding. Today, women theoretically have equal education and marriage rights, but issues remain, such as the impacts of the one-child policy leading to sex-specific abortions and a disparity in the gender ratio, contributing to problems like increased abductions of women.

Women in China
Women in China have experienced both progress and setbacks in their rights and social status over time. Confucian teachings traditionally promoted male dominance and subservience of women. During the Tang Dynasty women had increased land rights, divorce rights, and access to education, but these gains were reduced later on. The 20th century brought new laws aimed at protecting women's rights, though cultural norms have been difficult to change and China's one-child policy has had negative effects, including sex-selective abortion and abandonment of baby girls. Today women make up a large part of the workforce but often face poor conditions, especially in rural areas. Overall women's equality under the law has advanced but true social and cultural equality remains a work in

Passing the gift healing modalities

Women in China
Women in China have experienced both progress and setbacks in their rights and social status over time. Confucian teachings traditionally promoted male dominance and subservience of women. During the Tang Dynasty women had increased land rights, divorce rights, and access to education, but these gains were reduced later on. The 20th century brought new laws aimed at protecting women's rights, though cultural norms have been difficult to change and China's one-child policy has had negative effects, including sex-selective abortion and abandonment of baby girls. Today women make up a large part of the workforce but often face poor conditions, especially in rural areas. Overall women's equality under the law has advanced but true social and cultural equality remains a work in

Leah Jacobson is the founder and CEO of The Guiding Star Project, a national non-profit organization working to revolutionize women's health care. She has over 15 years of experience in women's health, lactation consulting, youth ministry, and the pro-life movement. She frequently gives talks on topics related to women's health, feminism, and pro-life issues.
Passing the gift healing modalities
This document summarizes a study on indigenous healing practices among the Ayta people in Pampanga, Philippines. It discusses how after the 1991 Pinatubo eruption, the women in the community played an important role in helping the community heal physically and spiritually. It notes that some women had a gift for healing illnesses through traditional practices. However, over 20 years, the number of indigenous healers declined from 5 to only 2, possibly due to the establishment of a health center or scarcer healing resources. World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization founded in 1950 that works with children, families, and communities worldwide to address the root causes of poverty and injustice. It began by caring for orphans in South Korea and has since expanded to over 90 countries. In 2014, World Vision served over 3 million sponsored children, promoted the well-being of 420 million vulnerable children, and assisted over 10 million disaster survivors and refugees.

Diversity Appreciation

The Nirmala Samaj Kalyan Sangstha aims to promote brotherhood and communal harmony through cultural programs attended by over 7,000 people from different religious groups. It also conducts social research and designs educational programs on topics like sex education. It identifies poor students through testing and provides scholarships. The organization runs child health checkups including polio vaccination with help from local medical centers. It operates wellness centers providing medical care with doctors and focuses on women and children. The majority of its budget (51%) is spent on poor student education and child education programs.

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).

- 7. Ricky Gray Grass, is an Oglala Spiritual and Community Leader, Educator, Substance Abuse Counselor from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
- 8. Ricky Gray Grass will present on the seven sacred Lakota rites in context to achieving balance and harmony with respect to Native wellness. Elizabeth Warson will present on the Isnati Awicalowanpi (coming of age ceremony) for Lakota girls, one of the seven sacred Lakota rites (see attached final report). The purpose of this ceremony is to empower young girls to embrace their womanhood. Presentation format: PowerPoint with colorful slides from our collaborative Isnati project, funded by the Open Meadows Foundation. Objective: Attendees will understand the meaning of rituals as a form of empowerment for young women as well as implications for their own communities.

- Welcome to the 1st Annual Pocahontas Memorial Research Symposium honoring the legacy of Pocahontas, we have an amazing group of speakers lined up today but first I want to thank the Mary Elizabeth Conover Foundation for their very generous grant to make todays symposium possible.
- Pocahontas was breaking glass ceilings long before that became a part of our vocabulary. She was a woman who spanned the boundary between incredibly divergent culteres. So who better to honor today than Pocahontas during National Women’s Health Week. This week is so important because often we women don’t make our health a priority, we can come up with a thousand reasons why that chest pain, twisted ankle or flu shot can wait. We have children to take care of, work, pets, our homes to clean lawns to mow I could go on and on but if you’re a female you know exactly what I am talking about. Well we have to be healthy to take care of all the other things we care about and Pocahontas understood that. P was a native american princess, amasador and a peace maker to the first american settlers. In the that time woman had a powerful role but no official role but it is well known that she adviced her father at that time. She always encouraged the path of peace. Cultural differences even today presnt diverse ideas about the nature of health and illness. There are traditional healing ways and modern treatments.
- There is growing admiration for many of the practices of American Indians, Mative Alaskans and Native Hawaiins.
