Introduction
World vision is a christian humanitarian organisation. They work with
children, families and their communities worldwide to tackle the problems
leading to poverty and injustice.
Vision and Mission
“Our vision for every child, life in all its fullness; Our prayer for every
heart, the will to make it so.”
World Vision is an international partnership of Christians whose mission is
to follow our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in working with the poor and
oppressed to promote human transformation, seek justice and bear
witness to the good news of the Kingdom of God.
History
World Vision was founded in 1950 by Dr Bob Pierce , a young pastor and
missionary, who had first been sent to China and South Korea in 1947 by
the Youth of Christ missionary organisation. He remained at the head of
World Vision for nearly two decades , but resigned in 1967.
World Vision began caring for orphans and children in need first in South
Korea , then expanding throughout Asia and , eventually , in more than 90
countries , embracing larger issues of community development and
advocacy for the poor as part of its basic mission to help children and
their families build a sustainable future
Impact of social venture

420 million vulnerable children whose well-being was promoted through
their work , including advocacy contributing to policy change
