Tie the same knot over and over
     to create a spiral piece.
Square Knot (Flat)
Alternate the knots you tie to create a flat piece.
Adding Beads
To add a bead to your hemp necklace, just
thread it on both base strands (black) and
            make a knot around it.
Starting Jewelry
1. Find the center of your
strands (drone and working),
and fold them in half.

2. Tie an overhand knot as shown.

3. Leave a half-inch loop just large
enough for your bead or
finishing knot to go through.
Finishing Jewelry
Make your piece of jewelry using the
         loose ends of the cords,
and finish with your beador knot closure.
Lark’s Head Knot
1. Fold the working strand in half. Place it
under the drone strand. The loop should be
at the bottom and the ends at the top.

2. Then take both ends and bring them
over the drone strand, and feed them
down and through the loop. Pull the ends
to make a snug knot.
Lark’s Head Knot Jewelry

Lark’s head pieces can be spiraled or flat
depending on whether or not you
alternate the tying of the knots.
