3. Open Style Lab’s (OSL) mission is to make style
accessible to people of all abilities regardless of
cognitive and physical ability.
A 501c3 non-profit organization, OSL is
dedicated to creating innovative lifestyle
solutions for and with people with disabilities.
We implement an interdisciplinary collaborations
centered around inclusion and creativity.
What is Open Style Lab?

5. Disability is part of the
human life cycle. The U.S
elderly population is
expected reach 84 million
by 2050.

6. Education Activism Technology
As the Executive Director of Open Style Lab,
Grace Jun, also teaches at Parsons School of
Design with a curriculum focused on inclusive
design. Her methodology in ‘story first’
teaching by pairing students with a person
with a disability, has established a community
of pioneers obsessed with accessibility as the
focus of design.
Eight years ago, Christina Michalove-Mallon
lost the ability to use her hands and arms due
to motor neuron disease (ALS). A former
client of OSL, she now serves as a board
member and drives the conversation of
inclusivity in design. She has helped invent
range of technology enabled garments for
people all abilities. (Swipe 2.0 awarded by
Fast Company).
With an Industrial Engineering
background, Pinar Guvenc helps drive
innovative partnerships at OSL. She
co-founded an e-commerce platform for
functional furniture designed in NYC and
manages business operations and product
commercialization efforts at Eray/Carbajo,
an international architecture and design.
