The CDC study found that long-time Mexican-Americans who are more integrated into US culture have worse health outcomes than recent Mexican immigrants, with Mexican-American males having the most health problems. While recent immigrants are generally healthier than native-born Americans due to higher activity levels and better diets, the health of immigrants declines the longer they live in the US and adopt American lifestyles.

Diabetes is a metabolic disease which results in high blood pressure. People with diabetes cannot produce enough of the hormone insulin or if they are producing it they cannot properly use it. The insulin hormone moves the sugar found in the blood into cells throughout the body to create energy. There are several types of diabetes such as type one, type two, and gestational diabetes.
10 percent of the people with diabetes have type one diabetes, which attacks the immune system and destroys cells from the pancreas. Type two diabetes happens to people that become resistant to insulin and in this way cannot move the sugar which builds up in blood. Gestational diabetes occurs to women that are pregnant and have high blood sugar, and is caused by hormones that block insulin.

Nearly a quarter of adolescent girls aged 15-19 in Honduras have been pregnant at least once according to national surveys from 2005 and 2011-2012. The adolescent pregnancy rate increases with each year of age from 5.4% at age 15 to 40.2% at age 19 based on 2005-2007 data. Adolescent pregnancy rates are higher in rural areas than urban areas and increase with lower levels of educational attainment. The high adolescent pregnancy rates in Honduras indicate a need for advocacy to promote and protect the sexual and reproductive rights and health of adolescents in the country.

Introduction
Healthcare is one of the basic needs that a normal human being must be granted. Not only should healthcare be granted but it should be of high quality that is beneficial to all who need it. In the recent past the Latinos have experienced disparities with health care being affected. However, there are different temperaments of these disparities. This is because of the many differences that they have being foreigners these include external and internal factors such as the language barrier, limited health insurance they also seem to lack trust from the rest. However, this is not the case as the quality of healthcare differs based on very many factors some of which include external factors that goes under xenophobia such as race, geography, disability, ethnicity, sex or gender, income, immigrant status, and sexual orientation. This difference in the quality of healthcare brings in the concept of healthcare disparity among a population. In the case of Latino, these disparities are greatly influence by internal factors such as language and cultural barriers, poor healthcare literacy, limited health workers, insufficient health insurance, and distrust health providers among others.
Definably, healthcare disparity can be described as the moral standing or disability as well as elevated burden of harm which are normally felt by the majority social group. This group usually has a common location, gender, ethnicity or status. Healthcare disparity is an important factor when it comes to the discussion on the health status of a nation; this is because the variations in healthcare provided waters down the overall quality of health and also has drastic effects on the given population. The disparities that are experienced in the health sector are majorly seen by the African American, Hispanic/Latino, Pacific Islanders, and Native Americans as compared to the white population of the country.
These subgroups of the populations face health disparity majorly because of social factors such as their lower literacy levels, their low economic status, poor housing that is unsafe for all human habitation, and their habitation areas are near environmental hazards. With all these contributing factors the effects of healthcare disparity are visible due to the low numbers of the population in this subgroup being able to acquire health insurance and also the high financial burden that this population experiences when disaster strikes them.
Healthcare disparity is an area where not only the government should get involved in, but also non-governmental organizations that have the will and the resources should take part in so that this situation can be rectified for it has a high impact on the finances of the individuals affected and consequently on the economy of the country. Hypertension affects approximately 73 million Americans. Clients and providers working together
to control the disease can help prevent life-threatening illnesses. Patient perceptions about their
illness can influence health behaviors, but little is known about the perceptions of Mexican
American adults in relation to hypertension. This descriptive study used semistructured interviews
to elicit Patient Explanatory Models of hypertension among 15 hypertensive Mexican American
adults. Findings revealed that personal models of cause, treatment, and outcomes were often
vague. This information can be useful for planning individual education and treatment that provides
meaningful care. Key words: explanatory models, hypertension, Mexican American

heart and kidney disease that affects more
than 73 million adults, or one-third of all
Americans. Annual direct and indirect health
care costs are estimated at $69.4 billion.1 Hy-

and beliefs rooted in the traditional explana-
tions of cause and treatment of illness may
increase barriers to awareness and control
of hypertension among Mexican Americans.4

Results of a first-of-its-kind trend data analysis involving 188 countries worldwide indicate that the highest percentage of people with obesity – 13 percent of the world’s total – reside in the United States, a nation that accounts for just 5 percent of the overall global population. Approximately 160 million US citizens are either overweight or obese, with almost 60 percent of adult women and 75 percent of grown-up men living in the country constituting this population group. American youngsters are not spared either, as nearly 30 percent of girls and boys aged 20 years or younger are plump and flabby, indicative of an 11 percent increase in the number of obese American children since 1980 (Murray et al.). Indeed, a majority of US citizens is currently fatter than the recommendation of medical science, and weights are still on the rise despite efforts to educate individuals about the health risks associated with obesity. Why are Americans rapidly becoming more obese? This paper argues that the US citizens are becoming more overweight because of American culture, technical changes in the preparation of food, and inactivity.
The importance of researching why Americans are increasingly becoming overweight is manifest in the costs of obesity for individuals and the nation at large. Obesity, which in simple terms refers to an excess of body fat that causes adverse effects in the health and overall wellbeing of individuals, exacerbates the risk for contracting various illnesses and impairs life quality for both children and adults (Rippe 1131). The health risks include heart disease, osteoarthritis, polycystic ovarian disease, sleep apnea, gout, and a wide range of cancer types, such as liver, kidney, pancreatic, and breast cancers, all of which can lead to death, causing pain and distress to the relatives and friends of the deceased person. Fatness also increases the possibility of developing metabolic conditions, such as diabetes, fatty liver syndrome, and hypertension (Cusi). The burden of such illnesses is not trivial, as they can lead to premature death, disability, and lost productivity, all of which have significant implications for the obese individual, his or her family and friends, and the United States at large.
Obesity also leads to an increase in the financial resources that Americans spend on healthcare either as individuals or as a nation. Indeed, the medical costs associated with being grossly fat are enormous and increasing, evident in the findings of a study conducted by experts in the medical care sector from 2008 to 2015. The results of the research indicate that the United States expends at least $209 billion of its medical care budget on obesity (Kim, & Basu 602). Putting that into perspective, consider that the figure is nearly half of the estimated US deficit for the year 2018, implying that the country spends almost one in every five dollars allocated to h.

Abstract
Hispanics are the largest minority group in the USA. They contribute to the economy,
cultural diversity, and health of the nation. Assessing their health status and health needs
is key to inform health policy formulation and program implementation. To this end, we
conducted a scoping review of the literature and national statistics on Hispanic health in
the USA using a modified social-ecological framework that includes social determinants
of health, health disparities, risk factors, and health services, as they shape the leading
causes of morbidity and mortality. These social, environmental, and biological forces have
modified the epidemiologic profile of Hispanics in the USA, with cancer being the
leading cause of mortality, followed by cardiovascular diseases and unintentional injuries.
Implementation of the Affordable Care Act has resulted in improved access to health
services for Hispanics, but challenges remain due to limited cultural sensitivity, health
literacy, and a shortage of Hispanic health care providers. Acculturation barriers and
underinsured or uninsured status remain as major obstacles to health care access.
Advantageous health outcomes from the “Hispanic Mortality Paradox” and the “Latina
Birth Outcomes Paradox” persist, but health gains may be offset in the future by
increasing rates of obesity and diabetes. Recommendations focus on the adoption of the
Health in All Policies framework, expanding access to health care, developing cultural
sensitivity in the health care workforce, and generating and disseminating research
findings on Hispanic health.

On average Americans are less healthy than immigrants because of their activity levels and diet. Among the immigrants, women were less healthy.
