The purpose of Physically Fit 4 Hoops is to create athletic and social programs to
support and encourage youth in becoming healthy, educated,productive, and caring
members of society. We focus on teaching young athletes the productive mechanisms
of team sports, teamwork, conditioning, fitness discipline, cooperation, goal setting,
strong work ethic, and community stewardship. Fit 4 Hoops Basketball Camps are
designed to bring out the best in our youth.
Our foundation has been able to engage and encourage hundreds of
children throughout the metro Detroit area through our sponsored
basketball and fitness camps. Our commitment to physical fitness is
fundamental in also addressing the epidemic of childhood obesity
currently gripping our country. We provide our parents and campers with an
at home workout routine that they can utilize on a daily basis to help avoid a sedentary
lifestyle.
Since our founding in 2008, we have incorporated nutritional
education as a component of all our week long camps and weekend
skills camps. In 2011, Physically Fit 4 Hoops was proud to become
a community partner with ChooseMyPlate.gov. We are working with
the USDA to reach families and help them make meaningful,
sustainable, and healthy dietary changes based on the dietary
guidelines put forth by the MyPlate project. We provide our parents and campers with
literature on nutritional information to aid our them in making sound decisions regarding
meal plans and healthy snacks.
