Zend Framework provides tools for creating PHP web applications. The zf script is used to generate a project skeleton and configure resources. The Zend_Application loads configuration from application.ini, initializes the bootstrap class, and runs the application. The bootstrap class initializes custom resources. Common resources like the front controller, database, and view are initialized through Zend_Application_Resource classes, which get configuration options from application.ini. This allows flexible configuration and initialization of an MVC application in Zend Framework.

Caldera Learn - LoopConf WP API + Angular FTW WorkshopCalderaLearn
The WordPress REST API combined with a JavaScript MVC framework opens up new possibilities for better, more intuitive interfaces that solve scaling and other challenges. In this workshop we will use AngularJS, the best — because we said so — and the WordPress REST API to create custom applications. First we will walk through creating custom API routes and endpoints to interact with your data, followed by two unique ways to use AngularJS to create better interfaces for your projects. This will include a decoupled front-end and single page web app as a plugin interface.

Everyone knows that Silex is a great microframework for APIs and small sites, but what do you do when you want to build a large site, or your little tiny site has grown up? Silex has many different ways to let you build larger, complex websites that might still be too small for Symfony, but have outgrown the single page app it once was. We’ll look at what Silex offers us, and different ways we can structure our site.

As a PHP developer building web applications is besides making a living a lot of fun too, especially when you can deploy your apps to any kind of environment and on any platform. In this session I take a non-standard PHP application (based on Zend Framework) and deploy it to a bare metal environment running LAMP, Windows 2008 Server with IIS7 and to cloud instances like Azure and Amazon.
The goal is to provide information on how to deploy to these various environments manual and automatic, but also to show it doesn't really matter anymore what the targeted platform is, as long the apps are written in PHP.
The slides from my Deployment Tactics talk at the ThinkVitamin Code Management online conference (http://thinkvitamin.com/online-conferences/code-manage-deploy/).
Slides from my talk at Confoo 2014. Notes to come...
As a front end developer, I want to write code. Dealing with the mundane tasks that come with static assets such as concatenation, minification and versioning, I don't care much for. In this session, I'll explain how to setup Grunt tasks to handle CSS and JavaScript assets in both development and production environments. This automated workflow allows you to easily reproduce both environments locally for testing and debugging.

* Validating code with PHP_CodeSniffer
* Testing code with PHPUnit
* Debugging code with XDebug
* Documenting code with PHPDocumentator

Scaling up development of a modular code base - R Munteanumfrancis
OSGi Community Event 2017 Presentation by Robert Munteanu [Adobe]
OSGi offers developers excellent tools for creating modular applications. We have come to have a good understanding of the runtime impact of modularity, but less have been spoken of the impact of modularity on the development process.
This talk will discuss the details of moving a large OSGi project from a single monolithic codebase to multiple repositories in terms of the development process. We will present the impact of modularisation on source control, continuous integration, code reviews, IDEs and public discussion on chat/email.
After this talk attendees will have a better understanding of the way they can improve their development process when dealing with OSGi or other kinds of modular applications.

Adam Culp will give a basic intro to Zend Framework (ZF2 and ZF3) and how to use the foundational pieces. We will get a Zend Framework application up and running quickly using the Zend Framework Skeleton Application, and Zend Skeleton Module to add modules. Adam will also introduce some useful resources to help attendees continue learning on their own. The talk will give attendees enough information to get a jump start into using the framework.
The Solar Framework for PHP 5 (2010 Confoo)Paul Jones
This presentation is a whirlwind tour of the Solar framework for PHP 5. After a short bit of background, the presentation will outline the major concepts in Solar: everything is a library, the unified constructor, unified configuration, inherited configuration and localization, unified factory and adapter systems, lazy-loading registry, and the dependency-injection system. Next is an overview of how the dynamic dispatch cycle works in Solar, and how it compares to other framework dispatch cycles. From there we will move on to the SQL system, including the MysqlReplicated adapter, and lead into the ORM system. The ORM overview will briefly cover models, collections, records, automated filters, automated form generation, and more. After discussing the authentication layer, CLI tooling, and command-line controllers, it will wrap up with a brief discussion of Solar project architecture, and a short note on Solar's performance in relation to other popular frameworks.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.
