Delightful and loving Loved and admired Dad, you’re my hero My life you’ve inspired And when are all my blessings Are counted each day I thank God in heaven For Dad when I pray Dad, thanks for your presence Throughout thick and thin More than a parent, You’re my wonderful friend. 3. Mine might not be a classic hero Like Superman or ‘Spidey’ Instead of webs, he shoots bad jokes Which are annoying more often than most. But even still he takes care of me By working and feeding my family He may be busy but he still finds time To play and lose a good game of Trine. So even though he can’t lift cars Or save damsels in distress My hero is my Dad and I think he’s the best! Noah Jellinek, Year 7

4. Mr Molin put me on report He said it was a last resort He’s always trying to help my behaviour I see him as a kind of saviour. Mr Molin is a rock in a storm He helps when I have problems in form My target is to remain seated Because I often get overheated. Ryan West, Year 7

5. My Mum is my hero Strong as an oak She makes badness disappear Like a puff of smoke. She wipes tears from my eyes Her face shines like the sun in the sky. Her blue eyes like a calm still river She keeps me warm when I shiver She brings me food on my plate Why on earth would I hate The best mum in the whole world Next to her on the sofa curled. Christina Aguilera Haunted by the past Once more she sees the hand rising She falls to the ground, blood on her face But up she gets, onto the stage Still strong and fierce She begins to sing, the crowd goes wild He strikes no more But still the memories are alive Still haunting her Still there .. 7. This hero was bitten by a spider He leaps around like a monkey He wears a red and blue suit With cobwebs all over He saves friends and family Silver cobwebs come out When he jumps long distance The person isn’t completely spider. But he’s my hero Do you know who it is? Heather Geary, Year 7

8. My friends are great But my family are better My friends are playful My family is chatty. My heroes and heroines There are too many to count Why do I think this Why does it matter? 9. Her eyes shine like stars in the sky She takes care of our house and makes it nice She makes me happy when I feel sad And sees the good in something bad. She helps me when I’m all upset She’ll never let me down, you can bet. Thats why my Mum is the best Charlotte D

11. Angus Young (AC/DC) He stands stiff as ice Listening to the roar of the crowd The ground is rumbling He gets a cool shiver up his spine. 12. My heroes are really important I’ve not got one, but two I learn from them, what’s right or wrong With everything I do. They make me feel so special Make me proud to do my best They help when I’m in trouble And for that I’m truly blessed. My heroes have created me And for me, they’re always there They’d do anything that’s best for me No other hero could compare. 15. H er mind is a whirlwind E very muscle is pounding R eading is her very soul O pening herself to the story and loving it Enrapted, she is in another world. Absorbed in her imagination No-one can sidetrack her Dare they; they will be her enemy Loudspeakers would be needed to call her Every word passes over her head. Room for anything but books is lacking Orange juice sits beside her, Ignorant to its cause Nothing but hunger turns her away Though eating doesn’t stop her So many books covered in food How wonderful!
