‘EK BHARAT SHRESTHA BHARAT’
• ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ is a programme
started by our Hon’ble Prime Minister
Mr Narendra Modi.
• The programme aims to enhance interaction
and promote mutual understanding between
people of different States/Union Territories
through the concept of State/UT pairing.
• Under this programme,our state Haryana has
been paired with Telangana.

SOME FACTS ABOUT HARYANA-
• Haryana is a state in India located in the northern
part of the country. The state was formed on 1
November 1966.
• The State borders with Punjab and Himachal
Pradesh to the north, Rajasthan to the west and
south. The state borders with Uttarakhand
and Uttar Pradesh to the east.
• The name Haryana (earlier called Hariyana) has
been derived from the Sanskrit words Hari (the
Hindu god Vishnu) and ayana (home), meaning "the
Abode of God".
• There are total 22 districts.
• Chandigarh is the capital of the state.

• Telangana became the 29th state of India on
2nd June 2014.
• Telangana is bordered by the states
of Maharashtra to the north, Chhattisgarh to the
north east, Karnataka to the west and Andhra
Pradesh to the east and south.
• The name Telangana is derived from the
word Trilinga Desam; meaning a country of three
lingas (three ancient Shiva Temples.)
• The literal meaning of the word ’Telangana’ is land
of the Telugu people.
• There are total 31 districts.
• The capital of Telangana is Hyderabad.

Haryanavi has traditionally been the dominant
mother tongue in Haryana, with Hindi being
spoken as a second language.
Telugu is the official language of Telangana and

that covers their head.
