Types of E- Mail Marketing
4. Electronic mail (e-mail) is a computer-
based application for the exchange of
messages between users. A worldwide
e-mail network allows people to
exchange e-mail messages very quickly.
E-mail is the electronic equivalent of a
letter, but with advantages in timeliness
and flexibility.
5. E-mails provides faster and easy mean of
communication. One can send message to any
person at any place of world by just clicking mouse.
Various folders and sub-folders can be created within
inbox of mail, so it provide management of
messages.
It is effective and cheap means of communication
because single message can be send to multiple
people at same time.
E-mails are very easy to filter. User according to
his/her priority can prioritize e-mail by specifying
subject of e-mail.
E-mail is not just only for textual message. One can
send any kind of multimedia within mail.
6. Email marketing is the act of
sending a commercial message,
typically to a group of people,
using email. In its broadest sense,
every email sent to a potential or
current customer could be considered email
marketing. It involves using email to send
advertisements, request business, or solicit sales or
donations.
7. Newsletter Email:
Newsletters are very popular and are usually sent out on a
consistent schedule. They often contain the company’s blog
content, upcoming events, and any updates about your
company that would be of interest to your subscriber.
Milestone Email:
There are several stages that a customer goes through
while interacting with any brand. As they go through the
customer cycle (new subscriber to a customer), it’s
important to highlight milestones such as anniversaries
and birthdays.
8. Lead Nurturing Email:
These emails involve guiding your leads through a sales
funnel and converting them into customers. The general idea
of lead nurturing is that your subscribers are not yet ready to
buy from you.
Promotional Email:
Promotional emails are quite common in email marketing,
which is why it’s important to add more value to them instead
of sending the old “discounts” type of email
Survey Email:
You’ll only get better at what you’re doing if you ask for
feedback. The survey email allows you insight into what
you’re getting right and what you can improve on. It can also
help you understand your customers better and what they’re
interested in receiving from your brand.
9. o Cost effective - the costs of email marketing can
be much lower than many other forms of
marketing.
o Flexible design - you can send plain text, graphics
or attach files - whichever suits your message
best.
o Scalable - email marketing can be used to reach
large audiences or smaller targeted lists.
o Measurable - you can evaluate the success of a
campaign by using web analytics software.
o Environmentally friendly email marketing is better
for the environment than direct marketing by
postal mail because nothing is printed.
10. o Spam - commercial email or 'spam' irritates
consumers. If your messages aren't targeted to the
right people, the recipient may delete your email or
unsubscribe.
o Undelivered emails - poorly designed emails may not
get delivered.
o Design problems - your email must be designed so that
it appears as it should across multiple devices and
email providers.
o Size issues - files need to be small enough to
download quickly.
o Resources and skills - for a successful email campaign
you must ensure that you have the right copy, design
and marketing list.

Transactional E-Mail
12. A promotional email is a type of email that
businesses can use to promote their
products and services. Unlike
transactional emails that inform customers
about their order or account information,
promotional emails typically serve the
purpose of converting subscribers into
customers, and customers into brand
advocates.
13. Relational emails are designed to build
relationships with prospects and
customers by adding value upfront.
That value comes in the form of free
content and information, such as
subscriber welcomes, blog articles,
surveys, social updates, and more.
14. A transactional email is an email that is
sent to an individual recipient
following a commercial transaction or
specific action performed by that
person, such as a purchase in your
connected store or a password reset
request.
