OBJECTIVE
To become a valued member of a successfulteamthat serves both company and community needs. I am a person that
strives to gain knowledge and learn anything new that I can. I look at life like a true opportunistic should; I think that no
matter what there is always that silver lining. Since moving to Sanford, NC I have enjoyed the different people and
culture that the city has to offer, I have also joined the cities Prince Hall Masonic Lodge in an effort not to stumble
through life.
EXPERIENCE
10/15 – 12/15 BHI (I&E)
I was working with the I&E Dobble testing technicians, and breaker-testing group out of Charlotte,
North Carolina in the Toddville shop with Duke Power as a contract helper. We were assisting the
Catawba outage helping the I&E technicians. I have been keeping a close eye and learning everything
I can about machinery I have not seen or used before. I learned how to test transformers and PT’s and
getting a “Real World” view of the things that I learned in class. While working with Duke Energy as
an I &E, I gained qualifications and knowledge that allowed me to; be a clearance worker, use
precision measuring equipment’s, fall protection, be an electrical worker, and be in a foreign material
exclusion area.
01/15 - 06/15 BHI (Tool Room)
I was employed with BHI during this outage working in the; hot tool room hot Cal Lab entrance to
containment, and “cold” Cal Lab. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the knowledge that I
have gained while working at the plant. It has definitely been a learning curve being new to nuclear
and being new to the long and strenuous hours that an outage demands. I am happy to admit that I am
excelling and plan to keep trying my hardest and best every day that I work. I know I can never learn
everything about a nuclear power plant, but I am trying my best to learn all that I can so that I can be
the best nuclear worker that I can be.
05/12-05/14 Central Carolina Community College
I graduated from CCCC and received an; Associates in Applied Science, a Diploma in Industrial
Systems Technology, and I also received certificates in Electrical Controls, Industrial Hydraulics,
Programing Logic Controls, and Welding respectfully. I graduated a semester ahead of my projection
date and gained immense knowledge while taking courses at CCCC. We dealt with a lot of “real world”
problems from putting faults in machines, to some online troubleshooting. We also wrote an
abundance of reports in class and did projects such as a simple DC motor. We also learned numerous
terms and applications. We learned how to; wear an arc suit, do a zero energy check, and use other test
taking equipment, check and identify fuses, use an ohm meter to work on a component have learned
more at CCCC than I could ever imagined and hope to put all my knowledge gained into good use and
be able to make a great living for myself.
11/11-04/12 Labor worker Bartlett Services, Monecure, NC
While working at the Cape Fear Coal plant my job was to make sure all areas of the plant stayed clean,
and that any coal leaks or other emergencies were promptly taken care of. While working at the plant I
was a valued member of not only the Bartlett family, but also the Progress Energy family. There were
polices in place at the coal plant that were not there to aggravate or annoy you they were there for your
safety and your protection. Unfortunately, due to the amount of pollution the plant produces made it
one of the coal plants scheduled to be closed so I was subsequently laid off.
