The study investigates the utilization of waste materials, specifically waste plastics and waste tyre rubber, in the construction of roads on expansive soils. Laboratory tests show that reinforced gravel and flyash subbases significantly improve load-carrying capacity and reduce deformation compared to unreinforced subbases. It concludes that the optimal reinforcement percentages are 0.2% waste plastics and 2.0% waste tyre rubber for gravel, and 0.3% waste plastics and 3.0% waste tyre rubber for flyash.
