Goa Shipyard Limited is building six GSL Class Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Indian Coast Guard. The 105-meter vessels are armed with a 30mm gun and helicopter deck. The first steel cutting occurred in May 2012 and the keel laying of the first vessel began in September 2012. The largest vessel was launched in November 2016 and will help the Indian Coast Guard with policing, patrolling, search and rescue, and environmental protection missions.
