The fox sees some grapes hanging high in a vineyard and tries jumping to reach them but fails. After multiple attempts with running starts, his legs hurt and it's getting dark. As he walks away, he decides the grapes must be sour anyway and not worth eating, though really he couldn't reach them. The moral is that when we can't get what we want, we often convince ourselves it wasn't valuable after all.
Monkey Puzzle
A monkey has lost its mother and asks a butterfly for help finding her. The butterfly incorrectly guesses that the mother is several different animals such as an elephant, snake, spider, and bat. Each time the monkey says "no, no, no" and explains why the animal is not its mother. Finally, the monkey reveals its mother looks like it, and the butterfly realizes it does not know what the monkey looks like since none of its babies look like it. The butterfly then takes the monkey home to its mother.

The blind men and the elephant

The first feels the side and thinks the elephant is like a wall, the second feels the tusk and thinks it is like a spear, and so on for the trunk, knee, ear, and tail. Each believes their limited experience defines the entire elephant, and they argue loudly without realizing the others have felt different parts. The poem is a metaphor for religious disputes where participants argue without understanding each other's full perspectives.

Three billy goats named the smallest, medium, and biggest Billy Goat Gruff wanted to cross a bridge to reach a field of sweet green grass, but underneath the bridge lived a troll that would eat anyone who crossed. The smallest and medium billy goats were able to cross by convincing the troll to wait for their bigger brother. When the biggest billy goat crossed, he butted the troll off the bridge with his horns, allowing all three goats to safely reach the grass field.

Edward Lear was an English artist, author, and poet born in 1812 in London. He showed a talent for drawing and painting from a young age. Lear is renowned for his poetry, prose, and limericks. One of his most famous poems is "The Duck and the Kangaroo," which tells the story of a Duck who asks the Kangaroo for a ride on its back so they can hop around the world together. The Kangaroo agrees but is concerned the Duck's feet will be cold, so they set off with the Duck balanced at the end of the Kangaroo's tail.

A mouse saw a farmer and his wife open a package and feared it contained a mousetrap. When he discovered it was indeed a mousetrap, he warned the other barnyard animals but they dismissed his concerns. That night, the trap caught a venomous snake whose bite gave the farmer's wife a fever. To treat her, the farmer killed the chicken, pig, and cow to feed visitors and for funeral meals, leaving the mouse alone in realizing how the animals' dismissals impacted them all.

A caterpillar hatches from an egg on a leaf and feels very hungry. Throughout the week he eats through various fruits in large quantities, but remains hungry. On Saturday he eats a mix of sweet and savory foods, which gives him a stomachache. The next day he eats a leaf and feels better, having grown into a large caterpillar. He then spins a cocoon and emerges two weeks later as a beautiful butterfly.

A mouse tricks a fox, owl, and snake into believing it is going to have lunch/tea/a feast with a gruffalo, a made-up creature. When each animal asks what a gruffalo is, the mouse describes its scary features. When they see the gruffalo with the mouse, each animal gets scared and runs away. In the end, the mouse convinces the gruffalo that it is feared by all, but then says its favorite food is gruffalo crumble, scaring off the gruffalo. The mouse is left alone to enjoy a nut in the woods.

Water polluted by dyestuffs compounds is a global threat to health and the environment; accordingly, we prepared a green novel sorbent chemical and Physical system from an algae, chitosan and chitosan nanoparticle and impregnated with algae with chitosan nanocomposite for the sorption of Malachite green dye from water. The algae with chitosan nanocomposite by a simple method and used as a recyclable and effective adsorbent for the removal of malachite green dye from aqueous solutions. Algae, chitosan, chitosan nanoparticle and algae with chitosan nanocomposite were characterized using different physicochemical methods. The functional groups and chemical compounds found in algae, chitosan, chitosan algae, chitosan nanoparticle, and chitosan nanoparticle with algae were identified using FTIR, SEM, and TGADTA/DTG techniques. The optimal adsorption conditions, different dosages, pH and Temperature the amount of algae with chitosan nanocomposite were determined. At optimized conditions and the batch equilibrium studies more than 99% of the dye was removed. The adsorption process data matched well kinetics showed that the reaction order for dye varied with pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order. Furthermore, the maximum adsorption capacity of the algae with chitosan nanocomposite toward malachite green dye reached as high as 15.5mg/g, respectively. Finally, multiple times reusing of algae with chitosan nanocomposite and removing dye from a real wastewater has made it a promising and attractive option for further practical applications.

Now a day’s individual knows very well about the relation between food consumption and disease prevalence. Humans have a diversity of microbes in the gut that together form the gut microflora. Probiotics are the health-promoting live microbial cells improve host health through gut and brain connection and fighting against harmful bacteria. Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus are the two bacterial genera which are considered to be probiotic. These good bacteria are facing challenges of viability. There are so many factors such as sensitivity to heat, pH, acidity, osmotic effect, mechanical shear, chemical components, freezing and storage time as well which affects the viability of probiotics in the dairy food matrix as well as in the gut. Multiple efforts have been done in the past and ongoing in present for these beneficial microbial population stability until their destination in the gut. One of a useful technique known as microencapsulation makes the probiotic effective in the diversified conditions and maintain these microbe’s community to the optimum level for achieving targeted benefits. Dairy products are found to be an ideal vehicle for probiotic incorporation. It has been seen that the encapsulated microbial cells show higher viability than the free cells in different processing and storage conditions as well as against bile salts in the gut. They make the food functional when incorporated, without affecting the product sensory characteristics.

Optimizing Post Remediation Groundwater Performance with Enhanced Microbiolog...
Results of geophysics and pneumatic injection pilot tests during 2003 – 2007 yielded significant positive results for injection delivery design and contaminant mass treatment, resulting in permanent shut-down of an existing groundwater Pump & Treat system.
Accessible source areas were subsequently removed (2011) by soil excavation and treated with the placement of Emulsified Vegetable Oil EVO and zero-valent iron ZVI to accelerate treatment of impacted groundwater in overburden and weathered fractured bedrock. Post pilot test and post remediation groundwater monitoring has included analyses of CVOCs, organic fatty acids, dissolved gases and QuantArray® -Chlor to quantify key microorganisms (e.g., Dehalococcoides, Dehalobacter, etc.) and functional genes (e.g., vinyl chloride reductase, methane monooxygenase, etc.) to assess potential for reductive dechlorination and aerobic cometabolism of CVOCs.
In 2022, the first commercial application of MetaArray™ was performed at the site. MetaArray™ utilizes statistical analysis, such as principal component analysis and multivariate analysis to provide evidence that reductive dechlorination is active or even that it is slowing. This creates actionable data allowing users to save money by making important site management decisions earlier.
The results of the MetaArray™ analysis’ support vector machine (SVM) identified groundwater monitoring wells with a 80% confidence that were characterized as either Limited for Reductive Decholorination or had a High Reductive Reduction Dechlorination potential. The results of MetaArray™ will be used to further optimize the site’s post remediation monitoring program for monitored natural attenuation.
