1) The document discusses the importance of Christian growth through reading and applying the teachings of the Bible. It provides examples of both positive spiritual growth exemplified by Jesus resisting Satan's temptations, and negative growth shown through Paul ignoring warnings about going to Jerusalem.
2) A story is recounted about sons of a Jewish priest who tried to exorcise demons in Jesus' name but failed because they did not truly know Jesus, showing the importance of having a personal relationship with Christ beyond just invoking his name.
3) Methods of spiritual growth outlined include acknowledging, accepting, following, and receiving the teachings of the Bible which bring wisdom, joy, enlightenment, and lasting reverence for God. The document
Contrary to the ways of this world is how we live our lives to the glory of God. This lesson strives to show how God is best magnified when we see Him work through the "impossible".
Rom. 5:1-2 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of God.

Core_Personal Relationship with Jesus ChristStephen Palm
In this fourth sermon on Geneseo Evangelical Free Church's 8 core values we will focus upon our commitment to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. From the earliest chapters of the Bible we see that God had a personal relationship with Adam and Eve. And as mankind falls into sin, that relationship is tested and changed, but God continues to build friendships with people like Abraham, Moses and David. And then, in the NT we see that Jesus has a circle of friends, but he expands that circle to include us as well!
This lesson encourages us to have the Spirit of a Christian through examples that the Bible provides. It instructs us on the type of Spirit that a Christian should show in their every day lives and reassures us of the love of God, even when things are going bad.
In this first lesson we examine the spirit that every Christian must have. To show things that commonly weigh us down in our spiritual walk. Both audio and slides can be found together at www.cmcoc.org

Trained servant - Chosen to be TrainedJansen Balao
We are chosen by God (John 15:16) but that choice is also a matter of our own decision. Let us respond to God's call and serve Him, openly and lovingly. Let us bring our bodies in subjection unto the mastery of whatever our hands findeth to do; to do them for the glory of God.
God is good.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

3. Examples of Christian Growth POSITIVE – Jesus vs. Satan (Matthew 4:1-11) NEGATIVE – Paul going back to Jerusalem (Acts 21:10-14)
4. WHO ARE YE? Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I Know; but who are ye?
5. WHO ARE YE? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ehesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. Acts 19:13-17
