The group investigated how temperature affects the elasticity of rubber bands. They submerged rubber bands in water at different temperatures and measured the force required to pull the bands 20cm. The results showed that rubber bands required less force to stretch at higher temperatures. However, the difference between the highest and lowest temperatures tested was not statistically significant. Limitations included inconsistent stretching lengths and force gauge angles during trials.

An experimental study of heat transfer in plane circular tube fitted with the V-Shaped Aluminum
turbulators is performed for plane circular tube. The objective of this Project work is to analyses heat transfer
coefficient and friction characteristics in a plane circular tube fitted with the V-Shaped Aluminum turbulators.
The experimentations are firstly carried out on the plane circular pipe and heat transfer augmentation were
recorded and then the v-shaped Aluminum turbulators are fitted in the same plane pipe and then again the heat
transfer augmentation is recorded and then both of them is compared. Experimental investigations have been
carried out to study the effects of the V-Shaped Aluminum turbulators on heat transfer, friction and
enhancement efficiency, in a circular tube. We used the V-Shaped aluminum turbulators with the turbulator
element length of 200mm, 160mm and 120mm.We found the heat transfer argumentation.The mean heat
transfer rates obtained from using the V-Aluminum turbulators are 198%, 213% and 241% for turbulator
element Length of 200mm, 160mm and 120 mm respectively. All of the experiments are carried out at the

This paper investigates using distributed temperature sensing (DTS) data to detect scale deposition in well tubulars. The presence of scale, which has lower thermal conductivity than tubing, affects the temperature profile measured by DTS. Higher temperatures inside the tubing would be detected within scale zones due to reduced heat transfer. The magnitude of temperature increase depends on production conditions, completion design, scale location and length. DTS could provide a novel method for detecting scale and eliminating uncertainties in deriving properties like scale thickness from continuous temperature measurements.

1. The project aimed to reduce sealing open rejection rates in film capacitors from 1.3% to 0.03% at Vishay componenets India pvt ltd, a manufacturer of semiconductor and passive components.
2. Data collection found the highest sealing open rejection rate of 1.28% was on Stella Romeo winding machines. Analysis identified loose compression springs causing the sealing pencil to become misaligned as the root cause.
3. Testing of different spring materials found Inconel X750 maintained its properties at operating temperatures. Implementation on all winding machines and standardization reduced the sealing open rejection rate to an average of 0.35%, meeting the project goal and saving $1.6 million

Simulations are run at constant heat input and varying air velocities to analyze pressure drop, thermal resistance, Nusselt number, and profit factor. The results show that a configuration with pins of diameter 2,2,2 mm (type-4) has the best performance with maximum heat transfer and minimum thermal resistance. The optimized model with rectangular surface roughness on fins further improves performance over previous models.

This paper investigates using distributed temperature sensing (DTS) data to detect scale deposition in well tubulars. The presence of scale, which has lower thermal conductivity than tubing, affects the temperature profile measured by DTS. Higher temperatures inside the tubing would be detected within scale zones due to reduced heat transfer. The magnitude of temperature increase depends on production conditions, completion design, scale location and length. DTS could provide a novel method for detecting scale and eliminating uncertainties in deriving properties like scale thickness from continuous temperature measurements.

The use of Plastics in electrical products continues to grow. What started with circuit boards and transformer bobbins, now includes most enclosures and component bodies. New applications for plastics appear every day. Yet most engineers know little more than to ask for the UL flame rating.
To prevent getting “burned” during your compliance evaluations due to improperly specified plastics, it is important to know how to incorporate plastics into electrical products. We will discuss the core plastics requirements, material verification, differences between North American & International plastics standards, and the plastics tests. Perhaps even more importantly, we will discuss application specific plastics tests, how to avoid them, and how to prepare for them when they cannot be avoided.
This is a presentation intended for engineers and technicians who are involved with the design and/or compliance verification of products that incorporate plastics.

1. The project aimed to reduce sealing open rejection rates in film capacitors from 1.3% to 0.03% at Vishay componenets India pvt ltd, a manufacturer of semiconductor and passive components.
2. Data collection found the highest sealing open rejection rate of 1.28% was on Stella Romeo winding machines. Analysis identified loose compression springs causing the sealing pencil to become misaligned as the root cause.
3. Testing of different spring materials found Inconel X750 maintained its properties at operating temperatures. Implementation on all winding machines and standardization reduced the sealing open rejection rate to an average of 0.35%, meeting the project goal and saving $1.6 million

- 2. Introduction: Aim The aim of this experiment was to determine how temperature affects the elasticity of rubber bands. Rubber’s scientific name is polyisoprene, and is made of the repeating unit shown below.
- 3. Research Question How do different temperatures, measured in degrees Celsius, affect the elasticity of rubber bands?
- 4. Materials A pack of rubber bands Force gauge 1 tray (one that it relatively tall and long) Utility clamps or metal hooks Thermometer Hot plate Ice Beakers
- 5. Procedure Place the utility clamp at the edge of the tray Place a wooden stick in the clamp and tighten it so that the stick would not move Add enough water to submerge the wooden stick Take the temperature of water place rubber bands in the water and make sure they are completely submerged
- 6. Procedure (cont.) 6. Leave rubber bands about 10 minutes in the water 7. Mark a point (A) on the stick and bind the rubber band around it and use a force gauge to pull the rubber band to point B. point B is located about 20cm above point A. 8. Record the force. 9.After 10 trials using the same temperature, change the temperature of the water. 10. Either add ice to decrease the temperature, or boil the water on the hot plate to increase the temperature.
