What is Green Marketing ?
Green marketing refers to the practice of developing and advertising
products based on their real or perceived environmental sustainability.
Let’s take a look at green marketing examples from real-world brands.

BENEFITS OF GREEN MARKETING-
EVOLUTION OF GREEN MARKETING
The green marketing has evolved over a period of time. According
to Peattie (2001), the evolution of green marketing has three
phases:
1. The first phase was known as "Ecological" green marketing.
2. The second phase was "Environmental" green marketing.
3. The third phase was "Sustainable" green marketing.
ADOPTION OF GREEN MARKETING
Mainly five reasons are identified for which a marketer
can go for adoption of green marketing. These are -
1) Opportunities or competitive advantage
2) Corporate social responsibilities (CSR)
3) Government pressure
4) Competitive pressure
5) Cost or profit issues
Green Marketing Mix
● Green products require renewable and recyclable material, which
is costly.
● Requires a technology, which requires huge investments in
research and development.
● Majority of the people are not aware of green products and their
uses.
● Educating customers about the advantages of green marketing.
● Majority of the consumers are not willing to pay a premium for
green products.
