Votechnik was awarded a €1.6M pilot project funded 50% by the EC Eco-Innovation Initiative and 50% privately to develop an automated LCD recycling technology located in Denmark. The technology will launch this summer as part of the ReVolv Project at Dan WEEE in Copenhagen and invitations to visit the demo site are being issued. Each Trumaster-ALR machine processes 166,400 LCDs per year while preventing 8000 grams of mercury and 3000 grams of liquid crystals from being released into the environment, helping address global environmental challenges through enhanced recycling technology.

Green design can provide benefits to architecture by solving problems in an integrated design concept. Some benefits of green design include providing insulation, acting as a sunscreen or thermal buffer, and purifying air. However, green design is sometimes not properly integrated into the design process and faces challenges of increased costs and maintenance needs. To be successful, green design should start with a clear ambition, create an appropriate budget, find supporters, and combine expertise early in the process.

1500 Employees – Ambassadors of Green Ideas
SEB Banka launched a comprehensive SEB Green Year initiative in 2012 to reduce the environmental impact of its 1,500 employees and unite them around green ideas. A central "SEB Green Tree" campaign character was created to show that small contributions from each employee could achieve remarkable results. The large response from employees allowed the implementation of green ideas like paper sorting, more efficient energy and water use, an environmentally friendly vehicle fleet, and improved heating, leading to an award for one of the most sustainable companies in Latvia.

Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity server
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).

- 7. AGL decided to organized AGL Green Day as an educational marathon for all AGL employees with goal to:

- 9. deliver full information about worldwide ECO problems to employees
- 10. involve employees into the ECO movement

- 29. Navigation for staircase to stimulate use it instead of elevators (save on energy, stimulate healthy style of life)

- 31. Introduction of ECO-patrol which controls ECO initiatives on monthly basis
