cultural immersion
At Zenon, we offer all classes, from Prep to Year 6. Students focus on
Greek literacy, in the areas of listening/speaking, reading and writing,
and Greek Culture, through dance and Greek Drama/theatre, Greek
Schools in Melbourne.
Specifically, during the weekly lessons the students participate in the
following activities:
● Listening/Viewing: Listening to native Greek language
through conversations, discussions, songs, recitations, and
viewing of films, documentaries, and other children’s
programs through the use of audio-visual materials.
● Speaking: Participating in conversations, discussing topics,
rehearsing poems, and proverbs, and singing songs. Also,
performing role-plays, and giving short speeches and
presentations on selected topics.

2. ● Reading: Reading a wide range of texts, short stories, poems,
book extracts, and articles.
● Writing: Writing simple and complex texts, diary journals,
letters, essays, responding to questions, assignments,
projects, etc.
● Dance: Students learn traditional Greek dances from all parts
of Greece
● Theater & Drama: Through theatre and drama, students
develop their speaking and communication skills, whilst also
learning about Ancient Greek drama, myth, and culture.
Tuesday: 4:00 – 6:30, Friday: 5.00-8.00 pm, & Saturday: 9.30-12.30
