Ancient Greeks used goats for their milk source, made wine in individual homes, and ate meat. They grew crops like fig trees and olive trees, as well as fruits and vegetables, on their own land. Demeter was the goddess of corn, grain, and the harvest who made crops grow each year and was sacred to livestock and agricultural products.
