Goals

• Facilitate further dissemination of focused topic short-duration
events, consistent with GRA’s educational goals.
• Leverage today’s electronic technology to reduce costs and
hopefully allow moderate profitability with lower registrations
  than in-person events.
• Use phased approach to improve on the currently existing
  structure.
• Learn from past successes in conference calls/GRA
  Casts/focused in-person meetings

                                   -2- © AQUI-VER, INC.
Pressure on Water Supplies is Increasing

• 2003 Colorado River decision
• Recent Delta-Smelt decision (State Water Project)
• Climate-change related issues
   – Increased flooding/vulnerability
   – Change in precipitation/timing
   – Change in runoff/recharge to groundwater
   – Change in surface water deliveries

• Contaminated water supplies
• Continued population growth
                                 -3- © AQUI-VER, INC.
Water Supply: Dry Years vs. Wet Years

         • UWMP’s were relatively well vetted in 2005, however the
primary issue is we live in a relatively dry region and have
mixed water sources, in terms of local control and seasonal
           variability
