The document discusses cartoons and their defining features. It provides the writer's definition of a cartoon as a series of exaggerated drawings that tell a story in a bold, colorful way. Cartoons are meant to convey messages through symbols, color, and stereotypes. The writer chose to analyze cartoons because they enjoy comic strips and animated shows/films such as The Avengers, The Simpsons, and SpongeBob SquarePants.
2. THE GRAPHIC DESIGN WHICH I’M
CHOOSING IS…....CARTOON
AN EXAMPLE OF AN CARTOON
IMAGE:
MY OWN DEFINITION
A cartoon is a series of drawings that tell a
story. The image that is usually drawn is
put in a exaggerated way to create an
effect to the audience and that is behind
the whole reason why cartoon images
really stand out as they are; big, bold and
colourful.
Definition that I got from the internet:
The definition of a cartoon is a funny drawing
or sketch in a newspaper or magazine or an
animated movie or television show.

Out of all the design styles I chose to analyse
cartoon because I really like reading comic
strips and love watching cartoon shows/films.

4. FEATURES OF CARTOONS
Cartoons are created to convey messages
about ideas and judgements that the
cartoonist is making about people, events
or institutions. The message may be
light-hearted, humorous, mocking,
savage or sympathetic.
Each cartoon has a number of visual and
language features that create the overall
impression and help to communicate the
message. These include the use of
symbols, colour and stereotypes.
