First phase of the Mayapur Institute Campus was inaugurated and offered to Srila Prabhupada on 3rd Jul 2017 in the auspicious presence of HH Jayapataka Swami and many other senior devotees.

2. An excerpt from the Harmonist under the heading “Revival of Learning in Old Navadvipa; Paravidya-
pitha at Sri Mayapur”: “Academically capable young men who joined the Gaudiya Matha were sent
to study at Para-vidya-pitha before being inducted into preaching life. Courses afforded a discursive yet
comprehensive analysis of Vaishnava studies, with emphasis on Gaudiya siddhanta. Exams were
administered by Paravidyapitha and degrees bestowed by the Navadvipa-dhama-pracarini-sabha, as it
had been doing practically since its inception under Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura’s guidance.”

mine took Bhakti Sastri here and got second
initiation and … Mayapur institute is the cause of
their good fortune. So… now they are inaugurating a

In S.B. 1.5.32, Narada Muni spoke to Vyasadeva,
etat saṁsūcitaṁ brahmaṁs tāpa-traya-cikitsitam
yad īśvare bhagavati karma brahmaṇi bhāvitam
Everyone, from highest to the lowest living entities are
suffering from the three fold miseries and the only solution is
dedicating ones activities to Supreme Lord. Such education is
taught here at Mayapur Institute, which we will not find in any
other institute in the world. That is why Srila Prabhupada
wanted to have such education Institute here in Mayapur.

Srila Prabhupada explains this in his books how the modern educational
institutes are like slaughter houses, slaughtering the spiritual propensities
of the individuals. So, this is the vision of all our previous acharyas to
have an Institute like Mayapur Institute, here in Sridham Mayapur to train
the students from all over the world in the spiritual understanding.
During the time of Mahaprabhu, Nawadwipa was the seat of learning.
Lord Chaitanya taught grammar. Whatever He taught he taught Krishna.
The Mayapur institute does that, they teach Krishna, and people who go
through the program, would come out very Krishna consciousness,
become leaders, farmers and all the important members of the social
body, for a happy and harmonious society.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the fund raising to build
this wonderful building which is just phase 1.

Materialistic men having all sophisticated modern facilities, having
education from World’s best Universities, coming from a very nice
family, considered very intelligent and prosperous. …But, what is the
result? Everybody is still suffering…They have mental health issues,
suicide rate is pretty much high amongst them and they cannot
understand why?
As Srila Prabhupada explains all these are like zeroes and they have no
value. But if you just put “one”, which is Krishna before these zeroes
that will be millions, something very valuable. Srila Prabhupada, from
the beginning envisioned the introduction of Bhakti-sastri, systematic
training of students…So, today this is another milestone as Mayapur
Institute is inaugurating its first phase.

It is very nice to be in Mayapur and studying Srila Prabhupada's books
and other Vedic literature. 500 years ago Lord Chaitanya was teaching
by the bank of Ganga and we are doing exactly the same thing. So
studying in Mayapur by the bank of the river Ganga is part of
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's pastime. So it is very very wonderful thing
that we are part of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s past time.
I thank Padmanayana prabhu and other Mayapur Institute members,
teachers and students for this wonderful opportunity. Students are
involved in group discussions, role plays and various other exercises by
which the subject matter is churned thoroughly and the students
develop better understanding. We are also taught to ask question and
think…
By this way, Sambandha means relationship, and abhidheya means the
activities, and prayojana means the ultimate goal of life are taught here
at Mayapur Institute.

It is a great honor for me to be a part of such a great gathering. I am
very small to work on this project, so basically it was just a dream by
HG Padmanayana Prabhu who inspired me to do this project.
I give my sincere gratitude to Srila Prabhupada who has given this
opportunity to do this project for ISKCON. Although I am doing some
project for ISKCON Guwahati and Bangalore, but this was a different
challenge, there we were doing only master plan but here we have to
do something completely different.

If you have ever seen a magazine, you must have observed how these
companies they promote their products, they show the picture of what
happens before and after using their products or programs. So, this is
also a program. We have many examples like one of my dear god
brother HG Vaisheshika Prabhu, a very exemplary book distributor
from the 70s till now. He follows the program. So if we look before and
after pictures of somebody who has followed the program, it would be
Vaisheshika back in 70s and now. It is very important to follow the
program, just study and stay connected to Srila Prabhupada. The day I
joined, I was given a book bag and I was told to go out and distribute
these books – Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam and Sri Chaitanya
Charitamrita. I could not even pronounce the name of these books that
time. But because I took refuge of these books, today I am here. Now
MI is offering the students from all over the world to be a part of this
Temple of Vedic Studies. Come and take advantage of it.

It is great privilege for me to attend this historical opening ceremony of
Mayapur Institute…We are seeing Mayapur Institute flourishing day by
day and students are coming from all over the world to participate in
the program.
Srila Prabhupada mentions in a letter about the curriculum he wants to
have for the school of Sumati Morarji. Srila Prabhupada mentions the
importance of training in Krishna consciousness with different
activities. It is due to the vision and mercy of Srila Prabhupada that in
Mayapur we are seeing different educational projects coming up by
the efforts of many Srila Prabhupada’s disciples and grand disciples.
Thank you very much for the Mayapur management and
Padmanayana prabhu, they are trying their best to develop this project.

Today, I would say, it is a very historical day, that we are going to
inaugurate this building, which will facilitate devotees to come to
Mayapur and get higher education.
…500 years ago, Navadwip was very renowned not as a tourist place,
industrial city or capital like that. It was renowned and was famous for
learning. People from different places were coming to Navadwip dham
for learning.
In Chaitanya-bhagavata (Adi 2.60-61) it is mentioned – “nana-desa
haite loka navadvipe yaya | navadvipe padile se ‘vidya-rasa’ paya”
which means “Many people came from various provinces to study in
Navadvipa because by studying there one achieved a taste for
education.” I will say that has been justified today as students from
America, Europe, Russia, Africa…are coming now to study here. What
Chaitanya Bhagavatam has stated has been materialized now by this
Mayapur Institute.

HH Bhakti Purushottam Swami rightly called this as an historical event. Srila
Prabhupada gave a clear plan for Mayapur. But it was not easy for executing this.
There were many struggles. This is one of those landmark benchmark fulfillment
of Prabhupada's vision. Srila Prabhupada always emphasized about imparting
real education to people, which begins with “aham brahmasmi”, “I am not this
body”. If the education is lacking it, Srila Prabhupada called it as “ignorance”…
This is amazing today, that this palatial building dedicated exclusively for
educating the students from worldwide has manifested from nothing to
something big. This is Srila Prabhupada’s vision to impart this education to
people worldwide.
It is an historical event, fulfillment of Srila Prabhupada’s and the entire gaudiya
Vaishnav acharya’s vision. Because ISKCON is pretty amazing, it is manifesting
the vision of the parampara one after another. Now, this centre point of
education, where people can come and not get fooled, and confused and
bewildered and cheated, but actually get real genuine education, based on the
Knowledge of the spirit soul and Prabhupada's books. So I would like to
personally thank Padmanayana and his whole team, I know how difficult it is to
make something from nothing.

This is just the beginning of Prabhupadas desire to have a university
here, so this maybe be the first building of the university in this area.
This is a Vastu area for education in Mayapur City…
So education is the most important thing because the whole
brahmanda (universe) is based on ignorance and there is just one
portal, how to get out of the material world, back to Spiritual world.
…all the great benefit you have done…..by taking a giant step for
pleasing the Acaryas, pleasing Srila Prabhupad, I am sure he will
reciprocate very nicely with you. So, thank you very much for your
wonderful attempts and success. We wish it ongoing, that it will
expand into the Mayapur University.

Srila Prabhupada wanted the systematic study of his books to begin.
So, now we have the Bhakti Sastri and Bhakti Vaibhava not only in
English but also in many other languages also.
Mayapur Institute needed to have its own facility. We are happy that
we could inaugurate and offer this facility to Srila Prabhupada. This is
only one-step in the MI’s total plan.
So MI is enthusiastically giving the knowledge of Srila Prabhupada's
books. We are very honored to be here, on this auspicious occasion.
Recently the GBC was also considering how the reading of Srila
Prabhupada's books was so important. The books were the great yajna
for Srila Prabhupada, he stayed up at night translating the books, and
writing his purports. So we are grateful to the MI and to those who
have supported it, and we hope that they will be able to expand their
education and thus fulfill Prabhupada's desires.
