This document provides instructions for an assignment to create an SIOP lesson plan for teaching English language learners. Students are to use the SIOP lesson plan template and a class profile to design a lesson for a grade level and content area of their choice. The lesson plan must integrate reading levels, culture, language and content objectives, and best practices for ELLs. It should include sections for preparation, building background, comprehensible input, strategies, interaction, practice, delivery, and review/assessment. The completed lesson plan will be submitted to the instructor and Taskstream, along with a practicum log.
