This chapter discusses calculating the gradient of straight lines. It introduces gradient as the ratio of vertical to horizontal distance. Several examples are provided of calculating gradient using this formula based on diagrams of straight lines with labeled vertical and horizontal distances. The chapter concludes with over a dozen examples of applying the gradient formula to find the gradient of various straight lines.
