Gradek Energy is commissioning its first commercial-scale tailings treatment plant in Alberta using its reusable RHS technology that dramatically recovers hydrocarbons from waste streams. It is seeking two senior petroleum engineers to help scale its pilot plant to commercial volumes and oversee construction of the full-scale plant. The positions require 10+ years of experience in oil and gas operations and projects.

1. Gradek Energy is at the forefront of technology to treat and ultimately eliminate
tailings from oil sands production. The company is on track to commission its
first commercial-scale treatment plant. Extensive research has helped Gradek
Energy to invent a reusable technology capable of dramatic recovery of
hydrocarbons from waste streams. The company’s RHS technology outperforms
its competitors by achieving unsurpassed results while using less energy,
thereby solving major environmental problems with a smaller environmental
footprint.

Two senior petrochemical engineers are needed to lead the effort to scale its
pilot plant to commercial volumes. These two career opportunities provide the
chance to be part of a dynamic, exciting future, as this great young company
moves into a rapid growth phase.
We are seeking accomplished engineers with ten years of experience in an oil
and gas operations environment including large-scale projects. Additional
requirements include:
Senior Chemical Engineer
 Project management
 Design engineering approvals, fabrication of multiple mid-stream treating and
processing facilities
 Detailed knowledge of thermodynamic and chemical properties of hydrocarbons
 Ability to scope projects, including equipment selection, (oil and gas treatment
equipment) such as compressors, pumps, dehydration, amine treatment and gas
processing plants, as well as other gas
and liquids projects
 Estimation of capital costs
 Able to develop critical path scheduling and project cash-flows
 Experience in bidding, awarding, contracting, land-acquisition, permitting,
construction and installation

2. Senior Process Engineer
 Ability to scope projects including site, sizing and selection of oil and gas
treatment equipment
 Receipt and delivery interconnects for gas and liquid projects
 Ability to estimate capital costs, critical path scheduling, project cash-flows
 Knowledge of project permitting process
 Ability to present project analysis update to management.
 Experience in construction and installation on major projects
 Good management, communication and problem-solving skills
Reporting to the President, both of these engineers will play a critical role in scaling
Gradek Energy’s technology, and construction of the first commercial-scale tailings
processing plant in Alberta.
The positions will be based in Calgary but will require familiarization at the pilot plant
located in Montreal.
