Pair pupils. Play a relay game “Name the
Babies.”
Say aloud: The name of the mother is
12. Name the babies. (Pupils will
give addition combinations that will give
12 as the sum). The pair who
would give the correct answer first
wins a point. The pair with the most
points wins the game.
Review
A. Answer the following questions:
1) What is 27 more than 15?
2) What is the sum of 216 and 248?
3) If one of the addends is 19 and the sum is 24
what is the other addend?
4) If you add 72 and 18, what is the total?
5) What is 138 increased by 15?

How do we add 3- to 4-digit numbers with three
addends with
regrouping?
 Before adding, write first numbers in column.
 To add whole number with 3- to 4-digit, add
the ones first,
next add the tens, then the hundreds and
lastly, the thousands.
 Regroup if needed.
