Grad planning
1. Graduation Planning
● There are certain
courses you NEED to
take in order to get
your Dogwood

will get you

4. Graduation Planning
Elective Credits:
● You need a minimum
of 28 Elective Credits
to graduate (included
in your 80)

6. Graduation Planning
I have learned that there are other ways you
can get credits too, such as:
● Extra-Curricular Activities- some activities
qualify for school credits, such as Yearbook
● High level sports teams- if you play for a
provincial or national team, your courses can
be designed so that you sport qualifies for
credits
● Equivalency- if you went to another school
outside of the province, you may be able to get
those credits to transfer over to your present
7. Graduation Planning
You also have to take Provincial Exams in
Grades 10, 11, and 12 in:
● Science (Grade 10)
● Math (Grade 10)
● Language Arts (Grade 10 and 12)
● Social Studies (Grade 11 or 12)
8. Graduation Planning
● I have also learned
that there are many
scholarships and
awards to help you
through post
secondary school
● A lot of them are
academic awards, as
well as community
involvement and
sports awards
9. Graduation Planning
In grades 10, 11, and 12, we learn about the
focus areas for careers. They are:
● Business and Applied Business
● Fine Arts, Design, and Media
● Fitness and Recreation
● Health and Human Services
● Liberal Arts and Humanities
● Science and Applied Science
● Tourism, Hospitality, and Foods
● Trades and Technology
10. Graduation Planning
● After you have everything that is required, you
are ready to graduate!
● Hopefully you have a plan of what school you
are going to go to, how you are going to get
money, etc.
● Making a Graduation Transitions Plan helps put
all of this into place
