This document discusses GPS technology and proposes solutions to some of its problems. It begins with background on the initial military and civilian uses of GPS. It then explains how GPS works using triangulation of signals from satellites. The document notes that while GPS has become more popular and affordable with products like Garmin, problems exist regarding availability, strength, accuracy, and security. Solutions proposed include using wireless networking principles to improve availability during "handoffs"; applying quantum cryptography to encryption for better security; and using repeaters to strengthen signals and reduce initialization times, improving accuracy. Experiments are suggested to test these solutions in real-world trials.
