 The FDLP was established by Congress to

 Government Printing Office gathers
documents, creates records, and sends them to
the participating FDLP libraries.
Federal Depository Library Program
 Jackson has been a depository since 1963, but
have some earlier documents.
 We have print, microfiche, and online
collections
 Some documents have been digitized for the

documents
 Majority of print documents are in Ferguson’s remote storage
and are searchable in catalog.
 A few are in cataloging (C)
 Major documents are in reference (Census, Statutes at Large).
 Microfiche are in the Jackson Library Reading Room (for now).
 The federal documents use the SuDoc
Classification System.
 The NC documents use a similar system.
 If a call number has a colon [:], then it is a
SuDoc and not LC.
 Example: PR 41.8:B 52/2
