The Arctic Monkeys have strongly established their brand through their fifth album 'AM' and associated music videos, which feature a cool, rock-inspired style that reflects their alternative/rock genre. Their simplistic album artwork and music videos for songs like 'Do I Wanna Know?' use graphics and imagery that create a coherent visual identity easily recognized as the band's signature style.
The document summarizes research on Paramore's new single "Ignorance" from their upcoming album "Brand New Eyes". It discusses how the song was written about the band almost breaking up, but singing it helped the members understand each other. The album is set for release on September 29, 2009 with "Ignorance" as the lead single. The document also provides links to interviews with Paramore promoting the new album and single, as well as information on upcoming performances and previous album releases.
There are three close up shots analyzed in the document: 1) An ornament with the album title "Don't Believe The Truth" carved into it, relevant to the song. 2) A man being measured for a coffin, setting up an unexpected story. 3) The man being forced into a coffin with the lid closing, cutting to another scene. The shots are analyzed for relevance to the music, lyrics, and transitions between clips.
This document outlines 12 shots for a storyboard draft. Each shot provides details like camera angles, camera movement, camera shots, and sound effects. This document discusses sonata form and how Beethoven used it in the first movement of his 5th Symphony. It explains that sonata form has three main sections - the exposition, development, and recapitulation. In the exposition, the main themes are introduced. Beethoven uses the famous four-note motive as the first subject. In the development section, the themes are manipulated and explored across different keys. The recapitulation restates the themes in the original tonic key. The document provides examples of how Beethoven applied each section in the 5th Symphony.
The front cover of Sum 41's album "All Killer No Filler" features images of young people making strange faces and acting in ways that rebel against societal norms, reflecting the album's themes of teenage rebellion and breaking from tradition. Though seemingly random, the cover relates to the album's exploration of individualism outside expectations. It may have also been inspired by the band's hit single "Fat Lip", the title of which connects to the photos on the cover.

The document provides an overview of the history and development of rock music from its origins in the 1950s to modern subgenres. It traces how rock incorporated electric guitars and amplification in the 1970s, giving rise to heavy metal styles. Subgenres discussed include soft rock, commercial pop, contemporary R&B, and hip hop, characterized by their instrumentation, vocal styles, and other musical qualities. The document also examines elements of rock instrumentation like drum kits and the 1-5-6-4 chord progression commonly found in pop songs.
The music video for "Let's Dance to Joy Division" by The Wombats is a performance video filmed in a small room. It contains numerous references to British rock bands from the late 1970s and early 1980s like Joy Division. Throughout the video, the lighting, camerawork, and editing mimic the pace of the song. There are also visual references to specific songs and artists, like mimicking Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and featuring a school choir reminiscent of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall." The video concludes with special effects and flying band members in a style evoking 1970s/1980s music videos.
Hard to Love by Lee Brice [ALBUM REVIEW]Jason Quinn
Lee Brice released his second studio album "Hard 2 Love" in April 2012. It contains 13 tracks including singles "Hard 2 Love", "I Drive Your Truck", and "Party People". The album showcases Brice's personal songwriting style through songs about love, memories, and partying. While being a solid country album, it is criticized for not taking many risks musically. The reviewer rates it a 6-6.5 out of 10, seeing potential for Brice to grow as an artist on future albums.
The group chose the song "A Song for the Dead" by Queens of the Stone Age for their music video. They decided the video would have a dark, horror theme involving zombies chasing a couple through a dense forest at night. They developed plans for costumes, makeup, locations, and roles for the band performing and actors in the chase scene.
This document discusses planning a music video project for a rock/metal genre. The group chose to do the genre because they are fans and understand the target audience. They selected the Avenged Sevenfold song "Nightmare" because the lyrics describe being in a nightmare, allowing room for interpretation. The group's initial plan is to include a section of the band playing in the woods to make it spooky like a nightmare and fit with the genre's stereotypes of isolation. Scouting locations and using effects to make the woods look darker and colder will help the video look professional and of high quality.
The document discusses plans for creating a music video for the song "A Song for the Dead" by Queens of the Stone Age. The group decided on a horror theme where two people are chased through a forest by zombie-like characters. They selected costumes, locations, and props, and assigned roles for the band members and actors. Shots include close-ups of the singer and drummer, wide shots of the forest chase, and alternating performance clips to match the song and narrative.
Hard-Fi is an English alternative rock band formed in 2003 in Staines, Surrey. They achieved chart success with their third single "Hard to Beat" and subsequent singles. Their debut album "Stars of CCTV" was released in 2005 to critical acclaim. It reached number one on the UK albums chart after six months, driven by the hit single "Cash Machine". Their music blends alternative rock with other genres and draws inspiration from the band members' working class backgrounds.
The document discusses the indie/rock music genre. It provides background on indie rock, describing its origins in the UK and US in the 1980s and its diversity with many subgenres. It also discusses how the term has evolved over time. Examples of indie/rock bands and artists are given like A Day to Remember, Alex Turner, and Kaiser Chiefs. Examples of indie/rock magazines like Kerrang! are also discussed along with typical content and imagery found in such magazines.
1. The group chose Queens of the Stone Age's song "A Song for the Dead" to use for their music video and found it conveyed a dark, foreboding feeling.
2. They decided the video would show a couple being chased through a forest by zombie-like characters.
3. Scenes of the band playing would be intercut with the narrative to help tell the story through the music.
NEW by Paul McCartney (2013) ALBUM REVIEWJason Quinn

The song "Dark Necessities" by Red Hot Chili Peppers was the first single from their eleventh studio album The Getaway. The music video, directed by Olivia Wilde, features longboarders skating around Los Angeles alongside scenes of the band playing in various dark settings that emphasize the song's dark lyrics. Through techniques like key lighting on the lead singer and diegetic sounds matching the beat, the video connects the visuals and action of the longboarders to the lyrics to portray an overall dark and rebellious feeling.
The group discussed doing a music video for a rock band. They decided on Avenged Sevenfold as the band because the members all enjoy rock music and Avenged Sevenfold in particular. Avenged Sevenfold was chosen over similar band Bullet for My Valentine because Avenged Sevenfold is currently more popular and well-known, so their songs would be more recognizable to audiences. The group brainstormed potential Avenged Sevenfold songs that would work well for a music video based on the lyrics and conventions from their existing music videos.

Fleetwood Mac's 1977 album Rumours is considered one of their best and one of the best-selling albums of all time. It features four #1 singles and won Album of the Year at the 1978 Grammys. The album was recorded during a period of breakups between band members, and those relationship struggles influenced the angsty lyrics and pop/blues rock sound. Despite personal tensions, the band members credit those difficulties with adding depth to their music. Rumours has gone on to sell over 40 million copies worldwide.
Jackyl released their 7th studio album Best In Show on July 31, 2012 through Mighty Loud Records. The album features cover songs of "It's Tricky" by Run-D.M.C. and "Cover of the Rolling Stone" by Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show. The reviewer enjoyed the album's hard rocking sound and gritty lyrics but felt some songs had poor production quality and the Run-D.M.C. cover was a weak effort. Overall the album received a positive review for its in your face rock style.
The beatles aka the white album by the beatles [album review]Jason Quinn
The Beatles' self-titled 1968 album, also known as "The White Album", was a double album recorded during a period of turmoil in the band. It included songs written and recorded individually rather than as a group. Though the band members were experiencing conflicts, the album was commercially successful and featured diverse styles ranging from pop to blues. It is renowned for classics like "Back in the U.S.S.R.", "Helter Skelter", and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".

Gotta Get It Right by Sixx A.M. (2014) TRACK REVIEW
1. Gotta Get It Right by hard rock band Sixx: A.M. This song was released on August 5, 2014
It is the title track and lead single from the band’s third studio album entitled “Modern Vintage”,
which will be released on October 7th
2014. The music video for this single was released today, August
6th
, 2014.
Track Review
The song begins with some extremely short and faint high pitched short group vocals that build quickly
into very short drum and guitar riff intro before a single screaming vocal and rolling drum beats lead the
instrumentation into the first verse of the song, before being paired with a thundering drum beat
peppered with different guitar to give the verse a stop and start effect that loops around the first half of
the song before slowing down in tempo and quickly building and opening up during the main chorus.
The main chorus of the song features a drum led beat that seems to support the interment
guitar chords layered vocal pairing that sounds like a direct piece of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody with
at the same time maintaining elements of the hard rock sound, as we’ve seen on their previous album.
