This document discusses spiritual warfare and the armor of God. It explains that there is a battle between good and evil, and the enemy is Satan and his demonic forces. It describes the characteristics of Satan and his army. It then outlines the armor of God that Christians should put on, including truth, righteousness, salvation, faith, and the sword of the spirit. It emphasizes that through faith in Jesus Christ and prayer, Christians can withstand Satan's attacks by putting on the full armor of God.
The document summarizes a passage from Acts describing extraordinary miracles performed through Paul, including healings and exorcisms. Handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched Paul's body were able to heal people and cast out demons. It then discusses how some Jewish exorcists unsuccessfully tried to copy Paul, and how this led many in Ephesus to believe and publicly confess and destroy books of magic. The word of the Lord was growing mightily as a result.

Peter answers that Jesus is the Christ of God. While Jesus could be considered a great teacher or leader, the most important question is determining who He is. It is a question that has eternal consequences. Jesus performed miracles that proved His identity, like raising a boy from the dead, but some like John the Baptist still struggled with doubt. True knowledge of Jesus comes from a personal relationship with Him and surrendering one's life fully to Him as Lord.
The document provides an introduction and overview of Paul's letter to the Romans. It explains that the letter was written by the apostle Paul to believers in Rome around 58 AD to explain the gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul shows that all people are sinners in need of salvation and that God sent Jesus to die for sins so that people can be forgiven and live eternally with God. The letter explains that through faith in Jesus, believers can be made righteous in God's sight and empowered to live holy lives.
This document provides an overview of a presentation on the topic of Christology, or the study of the person and nature of Jesus Christ. It outlines several objectives of the study, including examining prophecies about Jesus' life, his dual divine and human natures, the doctrine of kenotic Christology, the magnitude of his temptations, and the necessity of his human nature. It then discusses predictions about Jesus that were fulfilled from the Old Testament. Finally, it explores biblical evidence that Jesus was fully God and fully man.
The document examines evidence for who Jesus Christ claimed to be based on testimony from various sources. It discusses what people in Jesus' time said about him, including that he taught with authority and some believed him to be the Messiah. It also examines what Jesus himself claimed, including that he could forgive sins, was the Son of God and eternal. The document argues that either Jesus' claims were true, making him the Son of God, or he was a liar based on the eyewitness testimony and fulfilled prophecies about the Messiah.

Acts 19, Receiving the Holy Spirit, baptism of the Holy Spirit, becoming hard...Valley Bible Fellowship
Paul arrives in Ephesus and finds some disciples who had not received the Holy Spirit. He baptizes them in Jesus' name and lays hands on them so they receive the Holy Spirit. Some Jews try to invoke Jesus' name in exorcisms but are rebuked by demons. Paul teaches in the school of Tyrannus for two years and many miracles are performed through him. When some become hardened against the gospel, Paul withdraws and reasons daily. Demetrius stirs up a riot against Paul in the theater, accusing him of threatening the cult of Artemis.
The document discusses the lineage of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as described in the Bible. It notes that both Isaac and Ishmael were sons of Abraham, and God's promise to bless the descendants of Abraham could apply to both lineages. While the Bible focuses on the lineage of Isaac/Israelites, it is largely silent on the Ishmaelites except for brief mentions. The document argues that Prophet Muhammad descended from Ishmael and fulfilled the promise to bless the families of the earth through Abraham's descendants.
This document contains excerpts from a book titled "Holy Spirit Mysteries" edited by Glenn Pease. It discusses several mysteries related to the Holy Spirit, including the mystery of the new birth. The excerpt focuses on explaining the mystery of the new birth, which refers to regeneration or being born again spiritually. It describes how people are born spiritually dead due to sin and unable to understand spiritual things, but God intervenes and makes believers spiritually alive through faith in Christ. The passage uses a conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus to illustrate this mystery, with Jesus telling Nicodemus one must be born again to see the kingdom of God.
This document discusses who Jesus Christ is according to Christianity. It describes how Jesus claimed to be God based on statements he made and things he did, such as performing miracles. Jesus' followers, enemies, and even demons recognized his divinity. The Bible confirms Jesus' claim that he is the Son of God. The conclusion is that Jesus is both fully God and fully human, with both a divine and human nature united in one person. Believers are challenged to accept Jesus as the Lord and ruler of their lives.

It then discusses the power of the gospel message to bring salvation and the necessity of preachers to spread the gospel so that people can hear, believe, and be saved. The document stresses that the gospel proclaims liberty, comfort, and joy to those who were previously bound or mourning. It describes the gospel as telling of the glory that follows Christ's sufferings. In the end
1) The document discusses the concept of "saved once, saved always" based on passages from Ephesians and other books of the Bible.
2) It argues that God predestined all faithful servants in Christ Jesus for salvation even before the world was created, based on Ephesians 1:1-5, 10.
3) However, it also cites passages like Hebrews 6:4-8 that suggest those who have tasted of the Holy Spirit and God's gifts can fall away and crucify Christ again if they sin and do not repent. This implies salvation can be lost.
The document provides an overview of what constitutes the gospel according to Pastor Charles E. Whisnant. It discusses that the gospel is more than just believing in Jesus, but also includes God redeeming humanity and including people in His kingdom through Jesus' life, death, resurrection, and ascension. It notes four key ingredients that make the gospel effective: it must be preached in word, power, the Holy Spirit, and with assurance. The document examines the characteristics of true saving faith, including production, affection, continuation, transformation, and jubilation. It discusses how the believers in Thessalonica became examples to others and strong witnesses through their exemplary lives and faith in God.
The second study in our "Growing Deep in the Gospel" series in which we answer the question, "What is the Gospel?" In answering the question we looked at how the word "gospel" was used in Jesus' day and how the Bible describes the gospel. We also looked at what is the heart of the gospel, a outline of the basic gospel message and an outline of the gospel based on the entire Bible.
The document discusses the pure everlasting gospel as presented in Revelation 14. It explains that the gospel has been contaminated over time with unbiblical teachings added after the death of Jesus. The three angels' messages of Revelation 14 will restore the pure gospel by removing these contaminations. Their message will call people back to worshipping God as the Creator and keeping all of His commandments, including the seventh-day Sabbath. This restored gospel will empower the final outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
The document discusses the key aspects of the gospel, including understanding it, living it, proclaiming it, and defending it. It explores the meaning of the word "gospel" in the New Testament and in Jesus' time, when it referred to proclaiming good news from a king. The gospel is centered on Jesus and his crucifixion, and encompasses God's plan for eternity past, creation, the fall, redemption through Jesus, and future restoration and eternity with God. Religion focuses on what people do, while the gospel depends on what Jesus has done.
The document discusses what the gospel is and why it is important. It defines the gospel as the good news that Jesus rescues people from sin and its consequences through his life, death, and resurrection. This salvation involves justification, sanctification, and glorification. The gospel is God's power to save all who believe in Jesus as the Son of God. False gospels focus on other things besides Jesus or contradict the Bible. The true gospel centers on Jesus and is foundational to Christianity.
The document discusses what makes someone a Christian. It explores various factors like believing in Jesus, accepting him as Lord, and obeying his teachings. Ultimately, it concludes that a Christian is defined by the love they show for others, as Jesus commanded his followers to love one another. To become a Christian, one must hear the gospel, repent of their sins, and follow Christ through faith and obedience.
The document is about the importance of the resurrection according to 1 Corinthians 15. It summarizes that the resurrection is central to Christianity, proves that Jesus is the Messiah, and gives believers hope of eternal life and meaning for their efforts on Earth. Without the resurrection, faith and preaching would be in vain, and believers would still be in their sins with no reward after death.
This document discusses basic photography concepts including composition techniques like rule of thirds, framing objects in the center or edges of frames, using different camera angles and distances, how lighting and aperture impact images, and capturing emotion and ambience through closeness to the subject and creative use of perspective, color, and action. It provides an overview of technical and artistic elements beginning photographers should understand.

According to Chinese folklore, the Chinese New Year celebrations originated from legends about a mythical beast called the Nien that would attack villages on New Year's Eve. Villagers discovered the Nien was afraid of the color red, loud noises, and fire, so they would hang red lanterns and set off firecrackers to ward it off. Over time, these traditions evolved into the colorful celebrations of the Chinese New Year, with activities like spring cleaning, wearing new clothes, hanging couplets, reunions over special meals, and giving "lucky money" in red envelopes. Some similarities have also been observed between Chinese New Year customs and the Jewish Passover traditions.
This document discusses signs and wonders that accompany those who know God by the Spirit. It references several biblical passages where Jesus and the disciples performed healings and exorcisms through the power of the Holy Spirit. The document encourages acknowledging God's reality, seeking the fellowship of the Spirit to know Jesus, and not boasting in signs and wonders but being grateful that we are God's children. It concludes by quoting a passage where the disciples prayed to continue preaching boldly while God works signs and wonders through Jesus.
The apostles were initially doubtful and afraid after Jesus' death, but after His resurrection and spending 40 days teaching them, their understanding of Scripture changed. Jesus opened their minds to understand the prophecies about His suffering and resurrection. He empowered them with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Peter and the apostles then boldly preached the gospel, performing signs and wonders. Their teachings were based on what Jesus had taught them from Scripture during the 40 days.
This document outlines a basic model for understanding different layers of meaning when reading the Bible. The actor layer refers to what was meant and understood by those in the biblical stories. The author layer is the intended meaning of the text's author. The personal layer is how each individual understands and applies the meanings to their own life. It notes the importance of considering all three layers - what the actors meant, the author's intent, and one's personal understanding - to fully comprehend biblical texts.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
