1) The document tells the story of St. John the Evangelist searching for and finding a young man who had strayed from the faith. Through prayer and persistence, St. John was able to bring the man to repentance.
2) It draws parallels between this story and the parable of the prodigal son, emphasizing God's endless and unconditional love for humanity.
3) The key message is that God's love is freely given to all and should inspire Christians to love one another as well, as exemplified by St. John's care for the young man.
The Gospel of John discusses Jesus' life and teachings. It notes that not everything Jesus did was written down in the text. The Gospel is divided into sections that cover Jesus' early discoveries, life-changing works, preparations, and final events. At the end, Jesus has a conversation with Peter where he asks Peter three times if he loves him. Each time, Jesus tells Peter to tend and feed his sheep, renewing their relationship and giving Peter a new purpose to serve others.
Jesus enters Jerusalem riding on a donkey to fulfill a prophecy. Large crowds lay down palm branches and cloaks to welcome him, shouting "Hosanna" which means "save us". Later, some in the crowd change their tone and demand Jesus' crucifixion. Religious leaders are concerned by the large crowds following Jesus. The disciples initially do not understand Jesus' mission is to suffer and be killed in Jerusalem.
Jesus washing the feet of His disciples. 3 lessons:
1. Jesus saved us when we have a relationship with Him;
2. We continue to need His forgiveness as we go through life;
3. Let us serve and love one another as He has shown

Jesus prays for himself, his disciples, and future disciples in John 17. He emphasizes the word "world" which is mentioned 18 times. Jesus prays that his followers will be kept from the evil in the world while still being sent into the world. He prays fervently for unity among his followers so that the world may believe that God sent Jesus. There are three levels of unity that Christians should pursue: within their congregation, broader brotherhood, and the entire religious world, as believers represent Christ in the world.
Jesus' passion through the eyes of john bethanyStephen Palm
Bethany has been described as Jesus' Judean home. He was welcomed into the house of Lazarus and became friends with Lazarus and his sisters, Martha and Mary. Jesus final destination before the beginning of His Passion Week was a visit to Bethany. In Bethany we find the greatest act of extravagant devotion, as well as the seeds of betrayal. We also find several very different personalities and get the opportunity to see how each demonstrates his faith and bears testimony to Jesus.
The sermon discusses the story in John 9 where Jesus heals a man born blind, highlighting how the Pharisees questioned the healing and refused to believe it was from God despite the evidence, showing how easily spiritual blindness can occur when people reject Jesus and his works. The sermon warns that spending time with Jesus and listening to those who tell the truth are important to avoid falling into spiritual blindness.
The document discusses a passage from the Gospel of John about Jesus washing his disciples' feet at the Last Supper. It provides commentary on Jesus' act of humility and how it set an example for his disciples to humbly serve one another. It emphasizes the themes of obedience to Jesus' example, blessing in following his command to love one another, and the early Christian devotion to fellowship as described in Acts.
Jesus' Passion Through the Eyes of John: Great ExpectationsStephen Palm
This sermon from John 12 explores the Triumphant Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem from the vantage point of the conflicting expectations. We look at how expectations fuel enthusiasm, and how unmet expectations lead to a strong backlash.
- Compassion means feeling the suffering of others so deeply that you feel compelled to help ("I need to make a difference"), whereas concern is a less engaged feeling of wanting others to help ("Someone needs to make a difference").
- The Bible describes Jesus feeling compassion for large crowds and using a few loaves of bread and fish to feed over 5,000 people, showing his willingness to help those in need.
- A wise man said compassion is seeing something bad happen to others and feeling you can't let that happen to your brother, rather than just feeling it's too bad.
This document discusses passages from John 17 that relate to Palm Sunday themes of joy and sorrow. It summarizes Jesus' prayer to God about revealing himself to humanity and granting eternal life. Jesus asks God to glorify him so that he in turn can glorify God. He refers to giving authority over all people so they may know God and have eternal life. The passages discuss Jesus revealing God to humanity and his desire for his followers to be with him in glory.
Crucifixion was a brutal form of execution perfected by the Romans. No one was worthy to die in this way except Jesus, who willingly endured the cross to pay for humanity's sins. Through his death, Jesus became the propitiation and justification for all who believe in him, enduring our punishment and satisfying God's wrath against sin. The cross was the greatest demonstration of God's love toward mankind and accomplished our redemption.
1. John the Baptist, who was imprisoned, sent two of his disciples to ask Jesus if he was the one who was to come or if they should look for another.
2. Jesus responded by performing many miracles including healing the sick and blind and raising the dead, showing that he fulfilled prophecy.
3. Jesus told the disciples to go back and tell John about the miracles they witnessed, and that those who do not doubt Jesus' message will be blessed.

When Jesus made His final triumphant return entry into Jerusalem the people laid their coats on the ground and shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" Their hope and respect for Jesus was obvious. The Pharisees however had a different reaction, accusing Him of blasphemy because he accepted their praise. Five days later that same adoring crowd was screaming, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!" What changed?
The document discusses why God leaves humans on Earth after ascending to heaven. It explains that God leaves humans to continue His mission of bringing peace and forgiveness to the world. Jesus commissions his disciples to continue spreading God's message of salvation and love for all people. God wants humans to join Him in His work of sharing the good news with others and helping them experience God's love.
Jesus heals a man born blind to demonstrate that he is the light of the world. When Jesus sees a blind man, he heals him by making mud with his saliva and applying it to the man's eyes, telling him to wash in the Pool of Siloam. The man follows Jesus' instructions and gains his sight. When questioned about how he was healed, the man explains that a man named Jesus healed him. Though the man does not know where Jesus is, he has received both physical healing and spiritual light through Jesus.
This document contains summaries of interactions between Jesus and several individuals in the Bible. John the Baptist recognizes Jesus as the Messiah. Andrew then finds his brother Simon Peter and tells him they have found the Messiah. A man who was born blind describes how Jesus healed him. Zacchaeus decides to repay those he has wronged after Jesus visits his home. An adulterous woman is forgiven by Jesus after others wanted to condemn her. The document encourages becoming a witness for Jesus through sharing how one's life has changed by knowing him.
This prayer seeks God's guidance and empowerment to faithfully live out and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. It asks God to give believers ears to hear God's word, lives to respond to it, and voices to share the message of salvation found in Christ, who reigns with God and the Holy Spirit for ever.
This document is a children's storybook based on the Bible story of Zacchaeus meeting Jesus from Luke 19:1-10. It contains 11 pages with illustrations and text summarizing the key events: Zacchaeus climbs a tree to see Jesus passing by; Jesus calls out to Zacchaeus and visits his home, prompting Zacchaeus to repent of his wrongdoings and make amends. The last page provides instructions for coloring and assembling the pages into a book.
Jesus heals a demon-possessed man in an area where Gerasene people lived. When Jesus encounters the man, he is living among tombs and under the control of an evil spirit called Legion. Jesus commands the evil spirit to leave the man, and it instead enters a herd of pigs. The pigs then rush into a lake and drown, astonishing the townspeople. The man is healed and clothed, and wants to follow Jesus, but is told to instead return home and share what happened.

Gospel of John - #27 - The Passion - Part 1BibleTalk.tv
This document provides a summary of chapters 18-19 of the Gospel of John. It describes Jesus being arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane, brought before the high priest Annas for questioning, and then sent to Caiaphas where Peter denies knowing Jesus three times. Jesus is then brought before Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor, who questions him about being the King of the Jews. When Pilate asks "What is truth?", the question is left hanging as to whether Pilate truly seeks the truth about Jesus.
This document provides an outline and summary of key passages from Revelation chapters 12-14. It discusses:
1) A vision in heaven involving a woman, a dragon, and the dragon trying to devour the woman's child.
2) An explanation that this vision symbolizes a 4-step attack by the dragon on the child, throne, woman, and church.
3) An introduction to the beast in chapter 13 and identification of the beast as representing Rome.
4) A sequence of events involving the beast, false prophet, and Satan.
5) A description of 144,000 believers standing with the Lamb on Mount Zion and three angels bringing messages of judgment.
This document discusses the importance of communication in building a strong marriage. It outlines five languages of love - words, gifts, actions, time, and physical touching - and explains that people need to receive love in their primary love language to feel loved. The document also contrasts the hierarchy of needs for men and women in a relationship, such as women prioritizing affection and attention while men prioritize sexual fulfillment and being seen as a playmate. Productive communication is said to be honest, clear, and complete. The overall message is that improving communication is key to improving love and having a loving marriage.
As the time for Jesus' death grows near Mark recounts several confrontations with various Jewish leaders and groups that will seal their rejection of Him as their Messiah. (Mark 11:1-12:44)
In the last hours before His suffering Jesus will provide teaching concerning the judgement coming on the Jewish nation, and how His Apostles will remember Him after He is gone. (Mark 13:1-14:72)
In this last class in the series Mike will focus on the key passages that describe Jesus' death, burial and resurrection - an experience referred to as the Lord's "Passion." (Mark 15:1-16:20)
Yeshua (Jesus) celebrates the Passover meal with his disciples, during which he identifies Judas as the traitor, washes his disciples' feet, and institutes the Lord's Supper. He then addresses the disciples in the upper room, on the way to Gethsemane, and intercedes with God. In Gethsemane, Yeshua agonizes over his coming crucifixion before being betrayed and arrested by Judas, who kisses him to identify him to the soldiers.
Jesus washes the feet of his disciples to teach them an important lesson in humility. With his death approaching within the next day, Jesus demonstrates humility by performing a servant's task of washing feet. He rebukes Peter's pride and teaches that true humility is serving others, not thinking yourself above simple acts of service. Jesus calls his disciples to imitate his example of humility by humbling themselves and washing one another's feet.
1) Jesus constantly consecrated himself to God through loving service to others. His sanctification was for his disciples, so they could be sanctified in truth and carry on his mission.
2) Jesus explained that the Holy Spirit would empower and guide the disciples' ministry, giving them speech, convicting the world, and enabling them to do greater works than Jesus. The Spirit was necessary for effective evangelism.
3) At Pentecost, the disciples experienced the promised infilling of the Holy Spirit. From then on, being Spirit-filled was expected as the norm for empowered Christian witness and service.

Pastor Daniel Kang shows us how and why Jesus humbles himself and washes his disciples feet and through why we need to humbles ourselves and serve one another.
This document discusses the miracles of Jesus and their purpose. It asserts that Jesus' miracles prove he was sent from God, as no one could perform such miracles unless God was with them. The primary purpose of Jesus' miracles was to prove his divinity as the Son of God, but they also demonstrated his love, pity and concern for suffering humanity. Several Bible verses are presented that describe Jesus' miracles and their effects on people, helping to strengthen faith in him as the promised prophet and Messiah.
Jesus is the great physician, sent to heal sin-sick man. What is the character of this physician? He is always accessible; He is infallible; He is unchangeable; and He is the only physician that can cure the destructive nature of sin.
Jesus healed a man who was blind from birth by making mud and telling him to wash in the Pool of Siloam. This caused a debate between the Pharisees as to whether Jesus was a sinner for healing on the Sabbath. The man who was healed defended Jesus, saying he must be a prophet since he opened his eyes. When questioned further by the Pharisees, the man said he now believes in Jesus.

Three events in Jesus' life reveal the Trinity:
1. His baptism where God says "This is my Son"
2. His conception where the angel says he will be called "Son of God"
3. His transfiguration where God says "This is my Son, listen to him"
The document discusses Jesus' ministry according to the Gospel of Matthew. It notes that Jesus began his public ministry after being tempted, and mentions John the Baptist being imprisoned. It then summarizes Jesus moving to Capernaum and preaching there, fulfilling a prophecy about Galilee. Jesus preached that people should repent, as the kingdom of heaven is at hand. The document asks several questions about Jesus' message and ministry, including his healing of a paralytic and calling of Levi.
The document discusses John Mark, the author of the Gospel of Mark. It says he was the nephew of Barnabas, a close companion of the apostle Peter for 12 years, and an eyewitness to Jesus's ministry. It then summarizes some of the key themes of Mark's gospel, including the suffering servant and humanity and servant heart of Christ. It also provides context on John the Baptist and Jesus's baptism by him in the Jordan River.
John 13:1-17,34-35 Love One Another (Sj2 Aug 10 2008)hungpham
The document describes Jesus washing his disciples' feet before the Passover feast. It discusses how Jesus, knowing his time had come to depart from this world to God, loved his disciples to the end. It then describes how Jesus got up during supper, took a towel and washed the disciples' feet, showing them they must serve and love one another.
The document provides a summary of the Sunday service readings which included:
1) Acts describing the selection of Matthias to replace Judas as an apostle
2) Jesus praying to God to protect and sanctify his disciples
3) Jesus questioning Peter three times about his love and commanding him to feed and tend his sheep
4) A blessing for believers to have faith in Jesus and be compassionate as he was

The Church never could have invented Jesus’ baptism at the hands of John the Baptist. Learn why, and also why Baptism is the “hermeneutical key” for understanding the meaning of Jesus’ ministry and message. See how the inspired authors of the Synoptic Gospels choose mythic language in the temptation narrative and how all three attempts of the devil are varieties on the one great temptation Jesus faced during his public ministry: To become the Messiah who fulfills the expectations of the people. Learn also the Outline of Jesus’ ministry.
1. Jesus uses the story of the bronze serpent from Numbers 21 to teach Nicodemus about salvation. As the Israelites were saved by looking at the serpent on the pole, so people are saved by believing in Jesus who was lifted up on the cross.
2. Anyone who believes in Jesus will not perish but have eternal life, just as the Israelites who looked at the serpent lived. Belief requires a spiritual transformation or new birth.
3. Jesus is referring to himself as the Son of Man who was lifted up to save all those who believe in him, in the same way the Israelites were saved by gazing at the bronze serpent.
The document provides an overview and analysis of Numbers 21:4-9 and John 3:1-17. It summarizes that:
1) Numbers 21 describes God sending fiery serpents to punish the Israelites for complaining, and commanding Moses to lift up a bronze serpent so those who looked at it would live;
2) Jesus references this story in teaching Nicodemus about being "born again" through believing in the Son of Man being lifted up, just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness;
3) Jesus' crucifixion fulfills this symbolism, as He was lifted up so that all who believe in Him will have eternal life and be saved from the penalty
The document discusses how life events can be God's demonstrations and contain messages to teach. It outlines God's demonstration, the disciples' discipline through following commands, showing compassion, and giving credit where it's due. Finally, it warns of the devil's distractions from the true work of believing in God and not being distracted by earthly desires.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.
The Book of Revelation, filled with symbolic and apocalyptic imagery, presents one of its most striking visions in Revelation 9:3-12—the locust army. Understanding the significance of this locust army provides insight into the broader themes of divine judgment, protection, and the ultimate triumph of God’s will as depicted in Revelation.

Introduction
Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.
PHASE-IV
The very deep experience of silence helps to expand from the 3 - dimensional awareness of the body to all pervasive awareness. The bed of silence becomes deeper and more expansive - an ocean of silence with waves on it merge into complete silence called Ajapa state of the mind. This silence is the source of Creativity, Power, Knowledge and Bliss.
PHASE V
From this deep ocean of silence in the heart region, let one OM emerge as an audible sound which diffuses into the entire body and the space all around. Enjoy the beautiful vibrations.
Blink the eyes slowly, gently open the eyes and come out of meditation.
Tales of This and Another Life - Chapters.pdfMashaL38
This book is one of the best of the translated ones, for it has a warning character for all those who find themselves in the experience of material life. Irmão X provides a shrewd way of describing the subtleties and weaknesses that can jeopardize our intentions, making us more attentive and vigilant by providing us with his wise pages, reminding us between the lines of the Master's words: "Pray and watch."
Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1

9. 13 Now before the Feast of the Passover, Jesus
knowing that His hour had come that He would
depart out of this world to the Father, having
loved His own who were in the world, He loved
them to the end.
- John 13:1
10. 2 During
supper, the devil having already put
into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of
3 Jesus, knowing that
Simon, to betray Him,
the Father had given all things into His hands,
and that He had come forth from God and
was going back to God,
- John 13:2-3
11. 4 got
up from supper, and laid aside His garments;
and taking a towel, He girded Himself.
5 Then
He poured water into the basin, and began
to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with
the towel with which He was girded.
- John 13:4-5
12.
13. 6 So
He came to Simon Peter. He said to Him, “Lord,
7 Jesus answered and said to
do You wash my feet?”
him, “What I do you do not realize now, but you will
8 Peter said to Him, “Never
understand hereafter.”
shall You wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I
do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”
- John 13:6-8
14. 9 Simon
Peter said to Him, “Lord, then wash not only
10 Jesus
my feet, but also my hands and my head.”
said to him, “He who has bathed needs only to
wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are
11 For He knew the one
clean, but not all of you.”
who was betraying Him; for this reason He
said, “Not all of you are clean.”
- John 13:9-11
15.
16. 12 So
when He had washed their feet, and taken
His garments and reclined at the table again, He
said to them, “Do you know what I have done to
13 You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are
you?
right, for so I am.
- John 13:12-13
17. 14 If
I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your
feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 For I gave you an example that you also should
do as I did to you.
- John 13:14-15
18. 16 Truly,
truly, I say to you, a slave is not greater
than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than
17 If you know these things,
the one who sent him.
you are blessed if you do them.
- John 13:16-17
19. 18 I
do not speak of all of you. I know the ones I
have chosen; but it is that the Scripture may be
fulfilled, ‘HE WHO EATS MY BREAD HAS LIFTED
UP HIS HEEL AGAINST ME.’
- John 13:18
20. 19 From
now on I am telling you before it comes to
pass, so that when it does occur, you may believe
20 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who
that I am He.
receives whomever I send receives Me; and he who
receives Me receives Him who sent Me.”
- John 13:19-20
21. 1. He Washes The Feet of the Apostles
2.
He Reveals the Traitor
22. 21 When
Jesus had said this, He became troubled
in spirit, and testified and said, “Truly, truly, I say
to you, that one of you will betray Me.”
- John 13:21
23. 22 The
disciples began looking at one another, at
a loss to know of which one He was speaking.
23 There was reclining on Jesus’ bosom one of His
disciples, whom Jesus loved.
- John 13:22-23
24. 24 So
Simon Peter gestured to him, and said to him,
25 He,
“Tell us who it is of whom He is speaking.”
leaning back thus on Jesus’ bosom, said to Him,
26 Jesus then answered, “That is
“Lord, who is it?”
the one for whom I shall dip the morsel and give it
to him.” So when He had dipped the morsel, He took
and gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
- John 13:24-26
25. 27 After
the morsel, Satan then entered into him.
Therefore Jesus said to him, “What you do, do
28 Now no one of those reclining at the
quickly.”
table knew for what purpose He had said this to him.
- John 13:27-28
26. 29 For
some were supposing, because Judas had
the money box, that Jesus was saying to him, “Buy
the things we have need of for the feast”; or else,
30 So
that he should give something to the poor.
after receiving the morsel he went out
immediately; and it was night.
