Jesus heals a man born blind to demonstrate that he is the light of the world. When Jesus sees a blind man, he heals him by making mud with his saliva and applying it to the man's eyes, telling him to wash in the Pool of Siloam. The man follows Jesus' instructions and gains his sight. When questioned about how he was healed, the man explains that a man named Jesus healed him. Though the man does not know where Jesus is, he has received both physical healing and spiritual light through Jesus.
