Paul introduces himself as a servant of Christ Jesus called to be an apostle. He was set apart to preach the gospel of God, which was promised beforehand through the prophets. This gospel concerns God's Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who was a human descendant of David but was declared the Son of God with power by his resurrection from the dead. Paul received grace and apostleship to call people from among the Gentiles to faith in obedience to Jesus Christ. Paul is obligated to preach the gospel to both Jews and Gentiles alike. He is not ashamed of the gospel because it is God's power to save all who believe, both Jew and Gentile.

power of God for the salvation of everyone who
believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
For in the gospel a righteousness from God is
revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from

will live by faith.’

because it reveals not only
God’s LOVE for us, but what
He has DONE for us.
God took the message of His love and
WRAPPED it in flesh.
God’s love is not tied to your effort, but to the
fact that He CREATED you.
Other religions focus on how do we achieve,
the gospel how do we RECEIVE the gift of God.

because God stepped into
HISTORY
Our sin SEPARATES us from a holy God.
There are PROMISES of the gospel throughout
the Old Testament (check out Isaiah 53)
God didn’t add something else for us to do,
but came to us in PERSON to do what we
could not.

The gospel is good news because it is for
EVERYONE who responds in FAITH.
Obedience ARISES from faith, not faith from
obedience.
The gospel is the POWER of God for salvation.
