1. Google+ is Google's third attempt to enter the social media space after failed launches of Google Wave and Google Buzz. It allows circles, hangouts, instant uploads and sparks. 2. Google wants to move into social media to keep its advantage in organizing the world's information and access to content, as Facebook is catching up to Google in web traffic. 3. Google+ grew rapidly at first but interest is now fading, even though Google+ became the fastest network to 50 million users. Penetration in Belgium remains limited at around 24,758 users.
