Globe's legacy network outperformed Smart's upgraded network according to a recent NTC test. Globe recorded a call setup failure rate of 4.45% compared to Smart's 9.95%, closer to the NTC standard of 4%. For drop call rate, both networks met the NTC 2% standard. While call setup times were similar, Globe's legacy network met more NTC standards than Smart's upgraded network. Globe President Ernest Cu said the results show Globe provides better service than competitors claim, and that Globe's $700 million network upgrade will further improve service quality and mobile experiences.
