of belonging to a broader community and common
humanity. Thus, this concept implies thinking beyond
the identity that one has in a certain locality and
taking action for the cause of a wider community, of
the whole world. Similar to the rights and
responsibilities that a citizen enjoys in a certain
country, being a global citizen also means partaking
and complying with the ethical standards or
principles in order to achieve the common good and
to do things that is morally and socially acceptable
within society.
