From the production and broadcast market, China’s animation production suffered three consecutive years of decline (2011-2013). In 2013 China produced 358 domestic TV cartoons, a total of 204,732 minutes long, respectively down 9.37% and 8.17% year on year, mainly because it was difficult for government subsidiaries to cover the increasingly higher costs of production. In addition, the original IP resource scarcity has been a tough and unbreakable bottleneck for domestic animation.

The World Conference on Information Technologies (WCIT-12) was organised by the ITU (International Telecommunications Union) and took place 3-15 December 2012 in Dubai. Its goal was to revise the International Telecommunications Regulations (ITRs), a global treaty that facilitates international interconnection and communication services (e.g. roaming, radio frequencies, satellite communications), that have not been revised since its adoption in 1988. The main unofficial goal was to include the Internet in the scope of regulations, an issue which many feared could lead to serous consequences for the content and communication flows of the Internet.
Julia Velkova, a PhD student at MKV at Södertörn University had the opportunity to participate during the last days of the conference as an observer, and witness both the concluding discussions, as well as the process of decision making. Despite that the conference did not succeed in its aim to build a consensus among all 191 nation states, with the West ultimately refusing to sign the final document, it nevertheless concluded with the inclusion of a number of texts that cover directly or indirectly the Internet, opening up more instead of closing the discussion about who should govern the Internet.
The aim of this seminar/presentation is to attempt to summarize the key points from the event, outlining a number of issues that contextualize and discuss the conference, bring up perspectives of relevance for media and communication studies, and conclude with a brief discussion on the potential for further research on the topic.

Stone Tan Industry Update: Chongqing Cellphone Manufacturing IndustryJames Wemyss
China’s Cell Phone market is contracting due to saturation. This has had a direct impact on Chongqing’s output.
China's market is becoming less fragmented, with top players taking higher market share.
China' smaller cellphone manufacturers must rely on exports to less developed countries. However, the Indian market is getting more competitive due to growth in local manufacturing and higher import taxes, making the focus now on Africa, Nepal, SE Asia, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.
Chongqing is competing with Guangdong, Henan, and other areas that export cheap cell phones. For Chongqing to be successful, its cell phone industry must focus on low cost logistics, cheap material costs, and strong international sales and marketing support.
In our last report (2016), Chongqing’s cellphone manufacturing industry was growing strongly. Due to a shrinking domestic market (see chart 1) and other factors, Chongqing has experienced a sharp decrease in the past year.

Global and china li ion power battery industry report , 2017-2020ResearchInChina
There are three major technology roadmaps for power battery around the world:
(1) Ternary materials-based: NCA and NCM as main cathode materials. Featuring high energy density, NCM batteries have become a mainstream battery technology for electric vehicles along with a sharp cutin procurement costs of the batteries in recent years. Chinese battery enterprises, represented by Tianjin Lishen and Boston Power, have started the production of NCM batteries since 2014. NCA is chiefly used in 18650-type battery (the highest energy density so far), which supports mainly Tesla and Toyota RAV4. However, due to strong chemical activity of aluminum mixed in NCA, advanced BMS is needed to monitor the operating condition of the battery, thus resulting in a low penetration in carmakers.
(2) LFP-based. Canada and the United States were the first countries to develop power battery technology. In China, LFP, the mainstream technology for power lithium battery, is widely used in passenger cars and buses, with the typical enterprises including BYD and Guoxuan High-tech. However, due to the factors like low specific energy and poor low-temperature starting performance, LFP batteries still have not been widely used worldwide.
(3) Manganese series: with LMO as main cathode material. LMO is generally modified and is mixed with a small amount of NCM or LNO to raise battery energy density. Key representative manufacturers are LGC, AESC, LEJ, etc. And in China, they are CITIC Guoan MGL, Do-Fluoride Chemicals, etc.

Since China's silicon carbide export quota was abolished, China’s silicon carbide export volume grew rapidly during 2013-2014, and tended to stabilize during 2015-2016. In 2016, China’s silicon carbide exports came to 321,500 tons, up 2.1% year on year; wherein, Ningxia’s export volume amounted to 111,900 tons, accounting for 34.9% of the total exports and acting as a main silicon carbide exporter in China.
As China's silicon carbide products are mainly low-end preliminarily processed products with moderate added value, the average price gap between export and import is enormous. In 2016, China's silicon carbide exports had the average price at USD0.9 / kg, less than 1/4 of the import average price (USD4.3 / kg).

3. Abstract
China’s animation industry output value continued to grow and
exceeded RMB90 billion in 2013, showing a year-on-year increase of
around 21.0%. Despite the overall sustained growth, each link of the
industrial chain is developing to varying degrees.
From the production and broadcast market, China’s animation
production suffered three consecutive years of decline (2011-2013). In
2013 China produced 358 domestic TV cartoons, a total of 204,732
minutes long, respectively down 9.37% and 8.17% year on year,
mainly because it was difficult for government subsidiaries to cover the
increasingly higher costs of production. In addition, the original IP
resource scarcity has been a tough and unbreakable bottleneck for
domestic animation.
As another major play position for animation, the Chinese animation
film market has shown a rising trend in both quantity and price since
2011. In 2013, there were a total of 33 animation films released

in Chinese mainland theatres, including 24 homemade and 9 imported,
generating total box office of about RMB1.64 billion, up 13.34% year
on year.
With respect to the animation derivatives market, in 2013 the domestic
market size approximated RMB26.4 billion, up 20% year on year. As
the core of China’s animation industry chain, the derivatives market
has encountered stormy mergers and acquisitions since 2013, thus
constantly improving and extending the animation industry chain.
Representative firms are Guangdong Alpha Animation and Culture Co.,
Ltd. (Alpha Animation), Huawei Technology Co., Ltd and Meisheng
Culture & Creative Corp., Ltd.
Of which, Alpha Animation as the leader with a complete animation
industry chain has continuously extended its industrial chain through
the layout of online game and mobile game since 2013. In the first
quarter of 2014, it gained revenue of RMB375 million (up 18.15% YoY)
and net income of RMB49.8 million (up 10.28% YoY).
4. The toy export-oriented Huawei Technology Co., Ltd. suffered a sharp decline of 25.64% in net income in 2013, affected by the export
market downturn. The performance got improved by acquiring 20% stake in ebogame in December 2012. In the first quarter of 2014, its
revenue and net income climbed 10.28% and 0.82% year on year to RMB60.1 million and RMB3.6 million, respectively.
Meisheng Culture & Creative Corp., Ltd., has focusing on anime apparel, but seeing frequent mergers and acquisitions since its listing in
2013, thus realizing the full cut-through from content (Zhejiang Dishun Technology Co., Ltd.), media (DreamFactory + The Age of
Innocence) to derivatives sales (the Dutch distributor). In the first quarter of 2014, its revenue and net income saw substantial increases of
218.76% and 37.36% to RMB50.7 million and RMB4 million, respectively.
