This document discusses free software and provides information on what free software is available, whether it is good quality, potential issues with free software, and where to get it safely. It outlines categories of free software like office suites, browsers, antivirus software. It provides specific program examples and recommends sources for finding reputable free software like Softpedia, FileHippo, MajorGeeks. It also discusses free non-software items like music, ebooks, games, and online courses. Overall the document serves as a guide to what free digital content is available and tips for obtaining and using it safely.
The document provides a report card on Windows Vista, discussing its release, reception, and issues. It was released in 2007 after 5 years of development but did not meet expectations. Vista is not a bad system but had many problems including being slow, requiring powerful hardware, and having drivers that were not ready. While it improved security, it had no compelling new features and was disappointing overall. Windows 7 is expected to improve on Vista and be released in mid-2009.

This document discusses the past and future of personal computing. It covers how PCs have evolved from large mainframe computers for businesses to personal devices for everyday use, driven by advances in hardware like integrated circuits and software like GUIs. The internet and rise of mobile devices like smartphones have transformed computing into an always-connected experience. The future may bring wearable devices, internet-connected appliances, and new interfaces like gestures. Security, privacy, and the role of the cloud remain open questions as personal computing continues to merge with daily life.

A home computer is by far the most complex item that an average consumer is likely to own. Unfortunately, many of the possible uses of the standard home computer require a level of technical understanding that the average user does not have. Also a computer requires a level of routine maintenance that is more than many people can or will deal with. Security problems abound and require a vigilance that many do not exercise. Also, the economic interests of the computer industry often do not coincide with the best interests of the consumer.
The document discusses a trip to several South American countries including Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. The traveler expresses amazement at the sights in these countries and seems to enjoy visiting Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay, asking if the reader would also like to visit. They recommend planning future holidays accordingly.

We joined forces with Ambrosetti on our second MADE event on market and design approach to product innovation at The Kitchen by Design Group Italia in Milano, Italy.

This document has been prepared for the residential workshop organised by MuseImpresa in Parma (30 September - 1 October 2011). It tries to take some hype away from the term "museum apps", and to give some guidelines to choose among the offers museum professionals may receive.

Engineers approach problems by not only looking for practical, elegant solutions, but also by considering
the ethical implications of their outcomes. Journalists can take the same approach in creating data
visualizations, applying an artistic, ethical and practical lens to the designs they create.
