SO, WHAT EXACTLY IS THE GGF?
 It is a student-run, real-money investment fund
 Started in 2003 with a $100,000 commitment from the
college’s endowment fund
 Now worth over $350,000
 Portfolio currently consists of stock holdings in 29
companies
 Benchmarked to the Russell 2500 Growth Index
 Small-mid market capitalization stocks
 Growth Stocks
 Examples of companies that are held in the fund:
 Under Armour, Rite Aid, Toro, The Whitewave Foods Co., & Polaris
THE STUDENTS’ REQUIREMENTS
 Economics / Finance majors only
 Seniors with high grades in previous, especially core,
classes
 Must be enrolled in Equity Analysis by the start of the
GGF program
 Two-semester program
 Summer book report
 Mentor communication
STUDENTS’ ROLE AS ANALYSTS
Monitor / research:
 An assigned company
 The company’s industry
 Economy’s current and future state
 Economic indicator
Report monthly on the company
 Make a recommendation
PowerPoint Presentations
 Monthly monitor reports
 Periodic presentations on assigned economic indicator
