19. Project Considerations Washington County outsources most web hosting (one exception are existing on-line mapping applications). Washington County does not have the programming expertise on staff to create the application. The events calendar and volunteering portions of the website are to be maintained by the part-time YMCA employee without interaction from the County. GIS needs a simple way to update amenity information so searches return the correct results. The ‘text’ and ‘mapping’ sites need to have a common look and feel and provide a seamless experience to the user.

(YMCA staff approves each event before it is placed on the calendar). Park/Trail amenity information used to generate search results are stored in an offsite MySQL database. County GIS Division uses Navicat for MySQL to upload tables.
