Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides free legal representation and counsel to underprivileged individuals. In the past year, VLS supplied over 17,000 hours of pro bono legal assistance to almost 5,000 clients. Attorneys interested in volunteering with VLS will receive training and support, access to malpractice insurance, and an opportunity to give back to the local community.

2. Introduction
• As the head of The Posey Law Firm, attorney Jake Posey
provides government relations and legal services for
Fortune 500 companies, state associations, and market
leaders across the state of Texas. In addition to his work as
an attorney, Jake Posey also supports non-profit legal
organizations such as Volunteer Legal Services (VLS) of
Central Texas.
A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created in 1981, VLS
continues the vision of its founders by providing free legal
representation and counsel to underprivileged individuals.
Both VLS staff members and volunteer attorneys play a
significant role in achieving that mission.

3. Legal Services of Central Texas
• In the past year, VLS supplied more than 17,250 hours of
pro bono legal assistance to almost 5,000 clients.
Attorneys interested in volunteering with VLS will receivie
the training and mentoring assistance they need to
adequately serve clients, along with access to malpractice
insurance and required paperwork. Volunteers also benefit
from giving back to the local community; many report
finding personal satisfaction in their work, which may even
improve particular skills, such as litigation or mediation, or
deepen their knowledge about a specific branch of law.
