Supporting Texas Veterans through
the Joe Jamail Endowment
Attorney Jake Posey
Introduction
• Texas A&M University School of Law alumnus Jake Posey is a
lawyer with nearly two decades of experience. After serving in
private and government positions, he established The Posey Law
Firm, PC in 2006. He continues to serve as the firm’s lead attorney
and counsel as it manages cases mainly dealing with government
relations and business law. On top of his professional obligations,
Jake Posey manages to engage in civic service through organizations
such as Texas Access to Justice Commission (TAJC).
Established in 2001 the state supreme court, the TAJC primarily
serves low-income Texans by developing and implementing
programs that will help them access legal services. Throughout the
years, TAJC has received generous support from various individuals
who have helped raise funds for the commission. The latest of which
was Richard Mithoff who, together with the foundation arm of the
commission, launched the Joe Jamail Endowment for Veteran Legal
Services.
Joe Jamail Endowment
• The endowment was created in memory of Joe
Jamail, a celebrated trial lawyer and philanthropist.
Unbeknownst to many, however, Mr. Jamail served
in the Marines prior to taking up law. It was this
experience that fuelled his passion to serve the
veteran community. The endowment, befitting the
values of the late attorney, is meant to ensure that
the more than 8,000 veterans in the state of Texas
shall freely gain access to legal services that would
make their transition to civilian life easier.
To help in raising funds for Texas veterans, you may
