Electronics Engineer at Honeywell Enraf in Delft
Performed different roles in electronics design and improvement of products as
well as handling customer complaints, meeting suppliers, cooperation with
sourcing and sales departments and supporting production facility. Communication
and cooperation based on technical knowledge are key aspects of my daily work as
well as technical problem solving related to electronics, firmware and mechanics.
Performed different roles in the following products:
New Smart Servo level gauge: Electronics designer and functional safety engineer
and coordinator for developing the new Smart Servo level gauge.
Securiterre earthing device: Reverse engineering, redesign and customization.
Discovered and solved three safety critical design faults. Investigation of
customers’ complaints related to EM interfering loading devices.
Vito temperature gauge: Design improvements to solve far east customers’
complaints related to humidity ingression and potting compound reactions. Solved
old complaints in Botlek tank terminals related to tank vibrations and EMI on long
probes.
Cost savings program: Achieved a 50K euro cost saving for the radar cost saving
program.
New Power Supply design: Redesign of an ultra wide input range isolated power
supply for the new smart servo by investigating design alternatives and
compromises.
Other roles: production facility support, general maintenance tasks, cooperation
with marketing, sales, service and production engineering. Visits and meetings
with petrochemical customers including Shell, Exxon, KTM, Rubis, Main, Standic.
Electronics Engineer in Sioux Electronics (formerly NBG) in Nederweert
Joined 8 projects performing different roles including: electronics design, system
architecture, schematics and layout design, investigation and analysis of previous
designs, creating design documents, test plans, TPDs and prototypes. Performed
as a member of electronics team cooperating with software, testing and production

teams, in the following projects:
- Stow Atlas shuttle (Stow.nl): An automated industrial shuttle for storage
management. Principle electronics designer, layout designer. Author of system and
PCB design documents and test plans. Mechanical and electrical calculations for
motors requirements.
- MyDiagnostick (Ab-sys.eu): A medical device for atrial fibrillation detection.
Circuit design, analysis, PCB layout, test plan design and representative in
customer meetings.
- Respiratory control unit (Macawi.com): Design investigation and analysis, shared
in new design proposals.
- 3D printer control: Schematics design and structuring, investigating design
alternatives and proposals.
- Parking ticket system: Circuit design, layout design, Test plan designer.
- High voltage board (FEI.com): PCB layout of the first desktop high power 20KV
electron microscope.
Embedded Systems engineer self-employed "Binary Control Systems":
Designed and Fabricated whole devices starting with requirements analysis, circuit
design, firmware, PCB design and fabrication, enclosure and computer software
using Microchip PIC microcontrollers (see attached pictures):
- Coronary reserve measurement by thermo dilution: Designed and Implemented
device and computer program to implement US patent 6551250: "Transit time
thermo dilution guidewire system for measuring coronary flow velocity". The
device reads signals from a guidewire, amplifies, filters, digitizes signals and sends
data to computer to draw curves, analyze, and calculate coronary flow velocity and
reserve and finds relations between coronary flow and ECG cycles. The system was
under experiments on a number of patients in Alexandria university hospital.
- Self Drive Scissor Lift control unit for a platforms company manufacturing
moveable industrial platforms. The control unit fully controls a scissor lift motion
using a joystick and monitors different sensors.
- Control unit for multi level garage model A scaled model to simulate multilevel
cars garage operation. The control unit controls elevator and conveyor motors and
monitors sensors and user inputs.
- Phone Guard: a new device idea controlling phone calls in companies to prevent
undesired phone usage. The device interfaces with a phone circuit, monitors and
controls phone calls based on user profile.
- Humidity Temperature Controller A device that measures climate conditions in
farms to maintain the desired climate by controlling humidifiers and air pumps in
farms.
- Other control units for: electric beamer screen, washing machine control.
Software Engineer in ISFP for harbors automation (www.isfpegypt.com)
- Designer and developer of the Port Simulator project currently deployed in
Alexandria, Adabeya and Dekheila harbors in Egypt:
Port Simulator is a graphical 2D vector web application that simulates harbors’
activities displaying the harbor map and showing current, past and planned
activities related to vessel operations, cargo, containers and pollutions
management. Port Simulator provides automatic berthing capabilities and is
developed in Java J2EE, Macromedia Flash, Hibernate and Oracle database.
- Designed and developed software to manage weigh bridges for truck
management system in Alexandria, Dekheila and Adabeya harbors.
Master
Thesis in
TU/e
Designing a new setup for a wheelchair system to motivate users to practice
physiotherapy by overcoming known limitations including ergonomics, perceived
controllability, expressivity, social factors, limited access to class locations and
dependency on a healthy partner. The new setup includes an electric chair that
moves according to a dance choreography triggered by the user’s working muscles
and body posture.
The project includes both technical design and human factors aspects. Technical
aspects include design and implementation of the necessary circuit boards for
motors control and body posture measurements, communication with the PC and
necessary software. Human factors aspects include interviews with a number of
participants to assess satisfaction of the idea, ergonomics, social factors, perceived
control and perceived body extension. A number of interviews and contextual
inquiries were conducted before the idea was developed.
