This document discusses genre conventions for adventure stories. Adventure genres are usually set in exotic locations with an exciting story involving one main quest throughout. There is typically one protagonist and one antagonist racing to achieve the same goal, while the time period is usually in the present or recent past. The main protagonist is a normal person or specialist who discovers a quest and forms a team with people they meet along the way. The antagonist stands in the way of the protagonist or races them for the same objective.
