PITCH
A lonely child desperate for a friend unconsciously
unleashes a monster from his deepest nightmares to
accompany him. However some people are best left
alone.
GENRE
The genre of the film is a thriller following the life of a
child who fears the creature he’s created. This film is
designed around the fear of the unknown factor that
is used in the horror film genre.
CHARACTERS
Little boy (tommi): an innocent child who doesn’t know
better, he is the only one able to see the monster.
Must be fear fuelled and victimised. Can be played by
a younger sibling.
Parents: They must be unaware and acting calm
worrying about how strange and unnatural their child
is acting. This part can be played by any two adults.
The Monster: It must be unseen only revelling itself to
the camera when seen through the child's eyes, this
creates a sense of fear as its unclear as to where and
what its doing.
LOCATION AND BACKGROUND
Normal household with clear indications of a family living
there (family pictures, children toys).
It must be dark outside with the scene lit by artificial light.
The room the scene is shot in will have a singular light
source to create a low light setting.
Child drawings of the monster are littered across the room
so that the audience have a sense of what's hunting the
family, this builds the tense atmosphere.
There will be no music only audio to create a quiet tense
atmosphere.
OPENING PLOT
Tommi's parents are searching the house for him as its
bedtime. When found cowering under a desk littered
with grotesque drawings of a hideous monster his
parents question his obsession. Summing the encounter
up as a harmless nightmare the family have a small close
encounter from Tommi's ‘nightmare’
FILM PLOT
After the first encounter the father of the family
becomes a victim of the nocturnal creature, this leaves
the mother and son to a blind panic as they try and
survive the night. They make it through the night
however their efforts to contact people for help have
lead to more death. They are found the next morning
and the mother is sentenced the death and the son into
childcare as there is no evidence they hadn’t committed
the murders.
